Joy is incredible! I’ve had the privilege of participating in both her dance classes and Thai massage sessions, and they are absolutely fantastic. I use the word “experience” because being at the Joy Emporium is truly an immersive and vibrant experience. The energy in the dance classes and the relaxation from the massages are exceptional, and the beautiful art on the walls adds to the overall atmosphere, making every visit special.

Joy is excellent at creating a safe environment for women to explore authentic movement. She’s a gifted teacher and the Joy Emporium itself as a space is incredibly magical and inspiring. I have been able to experience joys creativity through dance, photography and massage. The dance classes that she hosts are a mixture of vulnerability and self acceptance. The flow that she creates is molded to each unique body with modifications for accessibility. Dancing has always felt uncomfortable to me and I struggled to find my own for of expression, but joy helped me redefine my understanding of movement. She helped me create this bubble for expression and find my own path.

Joys photography is intimate and loving. She took photos of my partner and I in the most magical Humboldt setting. This was our first time being photographed together and we were so nervous, but the nerves melted away as the session begun. Joy encouraged us to find comfort in one another and her photos show exactly that. Each photo she took was a capsule of love and vulnerability. Joy captured our love and I have never felt more beautiful.

My partner and I were fortunate enough to participate in Joys Thai massage workshop and it has been revolutionary. In the workshop, joy took her time in explaining touch and mindful exploration of one another’s bodies. As a pole dancer, I experience a lot of shoulder tension and joy helped my partner understand ways to alleviate pain and soreness through massage. This is a tool we use all of the time and this workshop is something that I encourage to all of my friends and family. It is truly worth its weight in gold.
