My niece can I had our first girl’s trip to SF and we stayed at the JW on the last night of our stay. I highly recommend the JW for anyone who is planning a trip because the location is right in the heart of Union Square, a short walk over to Chinatown and Little Italy, and a short drive away from the Golden Gate Bridge and Pier 39. The hotel was absolutely stunning! The sleek interior paired with the breathtaking views added to our incredible stay. We were greeted at the valet by Alejandro who kindly valet checked our luggage’s while we checked in. Antonio was the front desk attendant who efficiently checked us in early and assigned a city view room to us. Our room was immaculate and the view from our window was breathtaking! Alejandro was at our door with our luggage’s shortly after we’d checked in and he put away our luggage’s and gave us a introductory tour of our room with further information about the services the JW offered. We went downstairs for breakfast and enjoyed a delicious and hearty breakfast to fuel us for our day of adventures. We had ample amount of space in our room. The bathroom was immaculate! The upscale features of lighting and marble/granite felt luxurious. We felt safe and comfortable throughout our stay. I will be putting the JW in Union Square on the top of my list for future stays and I am so excited to come back soon!

I had the opportunity to stay in beautiful hotel on my recent trip and I must say that they really provide service from the heart. I would especially mention Chef Robert who went over and beyond to make sure that we had a very pleasant and memorable Food and Beverage experience in the hotel. He was very accommodating and a very pleasant person to have a conversation with. His energy nd passion to his job is unmatched.
Thanks a lot chef Robert for everything

The room is a little run down. Awesome shower, but carpeting is worn.
But what is more important is the service and the people...
I checked in, and they took their time even though there was a lot going on for New Years celebration.
The people at the front desk were very service oriented, loved it.
I went down to the bar, waiting for the new year...
Jake, the bartender, was nice, smooth, and a great drink maker.
I highly recommend coming here. Next to the union Squaren in San Francisco.
When you go to places around the world, the reason you come back is because the service and the people. I'll be back!

The hotel was nice the people are not very customer oriented. They don't try to help if they see your lost. I was trying to park a large vehicle and they kind of blew me off that I could not park there to look some were for parking. (Not cool for what you are paying for the room). The rooms are nice but the bed was horrible it felt like I was sleeping on a cardboard box. I woke up soar from how hard the bed was. The location is great your in the heart of down town.

We stayed here during our visit to San Francisco. Located very near to Union Square. Many shopping options nearby. Restaurants are nearby. All the tour operators have stop near this hotel that’s added benefit.
We checked late night, got some issue with the shower door, we were immediately moved to a new room. We were upgraded to top floor from where we got nice city view.
Staff were welcoming and helpful.
They’ve restaurant on Check In floor. Overall food was good and service too.

OMG one of the worst hotel stays EVER. This property like many others in San Francisco are on strike and it is SO loud. They are in front of the hotel of the main and only entrance. They are screaming into megaphones and beating drums and buckets from 7am to 10pm. We waited an 1 1/2 hours past check in time for a room even with our Titanium Elite Status. The club is not open, breakfast is SPARCE . Most importantly in the afternoon walking into the hotel they were so close to us and followed us all the way to into the front door screaming at us with their megaphones. Did not feel SAFE and very harassed. When complained at front desk as they watched the entire scene they just shrugged their shoulders. Marriott often tells you if there is construction, pool closures or any types of disruptions at the hotel to make you aware, this GM chooses not to. Although I emphasize with the workers trying to get better wages. They were so aggressive and harassing it was totally unfair.

Years ago it was one of the lobby and the rooms was the nicest looking in San Francisco, beautiful marble in the rooms and lobby.
Marriott decided to renovate all the rooms and tore out all the marble in the rooms and made the rooms look like a much cheaper hotel. Then they decided to tear out a lot of the marble in the lobby and installed a lot of white ikea looking plastic thankfully they left some of the marble. Must of cost the owners to destroy the original beautiful classic look of the hotel.
