This is an awesome place to learn about the grass roots of the community. To be submerged into the culture and see all people come together to share their cultural experiences. We had the pleasure of putting on an American celebration on the contributions of African descendants and it was awesome!

The Historical Museum is located right off Main BLVD and the admission is free. There is a lot of history to Lake City and there is now a Black History exhibit. They are only open three days a week Tuesday, Thursday and f you have nothing to do it is worth a tour.

The pic ur using is ACTUALLY of the COURTHOUSE. The CCH is ACTUALLY jus inside a 🏠. Looked to sketchy to even go inside, very disappointed.

This may be a small museum but it is filled with tons of amazing history. The staff are always excellent, and very welcoming. Love coming here for the small events that they host as well.

It is rarely open and the collection is very eclectic, but the museum is still a great visit to discover some interesting local history. Take a look at the Civil War-era rifles that were found late last century in Lake Desoto and the story of how they got there.

Interesting to see the history of Lake City and Columbia County. It's worth a visit when they are open. It would be nice if they had another day where they were open.
