Went camping #13 was on hill so windy. Ground very rocky and hard. Had to use 9 inch nails steaks for tent. Was not clean and had alot of broken glass so no bare feet. Overall had good food and good time together

The lake is nice, clean, and very warm. Average air temperature is 95° water temperature is 82° $10 to park there. BLM land surrounding the lake. That's where the problem is. Lots of burned trash everywhere. Not too many flat spots to boondock. Very close to everything you might need.

I live near the lake, it's a 10 minute hike. I wish people were more respectful. If you have been to the lake, there's a good chance I have picked up your garbage.
I wouldn't use the campground personally. It's too rocky and exposed. Besides there is public land behind the lake where you can camp for free.
Overall I give Farmington lake 3 stars.
For a 5 star lake experience just make the trip to Navajo lake

Very awesome place to get away. Although as a town this big it does have its own share of shady activity and crime . So please report such to the authorities. So that this place remains peaceful and family friendly.

It's a small lake. It is noisy due to the highway nearby and ATV dirt roads nearby. There are also private properties limiting hiking trails. Fishing is good however.
