This was a great place to stay while we pcs'd. The staff was helpful and friendly whenever we had any questions. We stayed in a suite for 5 days we 2 adults and 2 dogs. It was roomy and comfy. My only complaint is that there isn't a fenced in dog area at the hotel. BUT, the dog park is only a quarter mile or so walk across the street.

I would not recommend this hotel to a friend. It’s good enough but like many others have said, it leaves a lot to be desired. That’s on par with the rest of Fort Irwin. This hotel is dressed like a nursing home. It’s clean but it leaves you wondering how many generations have passed since the designer’s children’s children have occupied similarly styled nursing homes.

Multiple issues. They will not honor the rate I was told they would upon checking in, Internet drops out for day, air-conditioning in the room is so loud you have to wear headphones unless you want to turn the volume up and down every time it kicks on and off, and the breakfast isn't worth getting up for.

The service has been friendly and accommodating while the location is stellar for in-processing. The reception campus is just around the corner and about a 4 minute walk. The rooms themselves leave a lot to be desired for those allergic or sensitive to pets. I had to get my own vacuum cleaner to clean up all the dog hair around and behind the furniture. Furniture covers are advised as well as most of the furniture smells of wet dog.

The only good thing about this hotel was the friendly staff. I had a room reserved for 6 nights and I checked out after the first night and went to Barstow. The rooms need serious updating. The website mentions that the rooms have a kitchenette, which is needed because the best food anywhere around is at the Valero gas station. What the website doesn't mention is that the kitchenette doesn't have dishes, utensils, or anything else one might expect. It has a small refrigerator (mine wouldn't stay closed and the frozen food I bought melted) and a microwave. They do provide dish soap and a dish sponge although I don't know what you're supposed to use it for. Their fitness center has 1 weight machine and 1 treadmill. No lids for coffee cups in the morning, so be careful if you want to take a cup of coffee with you in the morning. It's also more expensive than getting a hotel in Barstow. My recommendation is to enjoy the pretty drive from Barstow to post. This hotel is pretty terrible.

The thing people have to understand is that nothing can ever be counted on at Irwin. The Landmark Inn is about as reliable as it gets out there but even it is not exempt from the desert curse. The dryer will rip holes in your clothes, or just be out of order more likely. Things break a lot, things sell out a lot, places are randomly closed around base. It is what it is. You just learn to deal with it. The Landmark isn't at fault for the brutal location. The Landmark mostly works, most of the time, it's way better than staying off base and commuting (people crash on that road all the time, it is one of the deadliest roads in America, probably due to people passing on the shoulder, hitting the sand and rolling the vehicle). They clean the rooms on a regular enough basis for me and have been helpful at the counter when I have needed to extend my stay or check out.

Breakfast in the morning is very decent for hotel fare. I usually get a few hard boiled eggs, a couple of waffles, sausage if they have it, fruit cup, oatmeal packet. It's a simple but well stocked breakfast lineup.

The location is decent too. Down the street is the shopette which might be sold out of everything if it's the start of a rotation. Still a good bet to check within such short walking distance. Across the street is the multi-purpose field which consists of a racing track, sporting field and calisthenics bars configured in various configurations to do different exercises.

The rooms are in desperate need of renovation. The rooms are worn, not very clean and the furniture hit its prime about 10 years ago. I requested a room clean after I had been here for a week and it did not happen. I found some little friends (in the pic) that were an added bonus. The staff are friendly. The little gym has a tread and elliptical that look ancient.

The staff here is absolutely amazing and the most caring! Housekeeping is the best I’ve ever seen!!
