Our little one has been at LUFLS for two years now. It has been an amazing experience for our family. The teachers are very thoughtful about the learning experiences they create and they’ve played a huge role in helping our child meet developmental milestones. They treat all of the children with respect and warmth, and I can trust that our child’s emotional needs are also being attended to. The space is beautiful and full of life (including chickens and turtles). The kiddos are fun and our child has made many friends to learn alongside him. We’re very grateful for finding such high quality care and I recommend LUFLS to everyone I know.

Our family has been part of LUFLS for almost a year and we couldn’t be happier. Our nearly three year old daughter has grown tremendously since starting there. Her improved language skills and ability to interact with others with kindness and care are just two of the amazing skills we’ve noticed since joining. Shaunte has created a magical and safe place for children to learn about the world and explore through play. They take children out into the world for amazing field trips around the city, touring museums, parks, farmer’s markets, restaurants and more - offering different perspectives and fostering appreciation and respect for all cultures, humans and animals. The parent education workshops are insightful and have made us better parents. We also appreciate the school’s strict sick policy, and feel like our family is sick way less often than most of our friends with kids the same age. We are looking forward to sending our son to LUFLS when he’s a bit older too, although he’s already comfortable with the teachers and reaches for them when we go pick up his big sister from school!

We absolutely love being part of the LUFLS family. My eldest daughter graduated last year while our youngest has one more glorious year to go. Ms. Shaunte, Ms. Hasani, and Ms. Nery have cultivated the most welcoming, comforting, inspiring learning environment for young ones. My littlest one talks about her teachers and peers daily and gets so excited about her school days. From the idyllic outdoor space to the thoughtfully planned field trips and cultural events; with their strong community engagement and parent involvement to the awesome enrichment classes, LUFLS is a dream.

I am obsessed with Little Urban Farmers--Ms. Shaunte, Ms. Hasani, and Ms. Nety are the most wonderful, caring, attentive, fun instructors. My older son, now 8 years old, graduated from LUFLS, and now my little son, almost 3 years old, loves going there everyday. My older son comes with me to pick up the little one everyone and continues to have catch-ups and fun conversations with Ms. Shaunte and Ms. Hasani. I love the relationship that has developed between our family and theirs.

LUFLS takes great care not only in the children and their wellbeing, but also their program. They are thoughtful about the field trips they plan, the daily art and music activities, and bringing in outside instructors or yoga, gymnastics, and drumming. There are often family field trips too, which I love, because then I get to spend time with Ms. Shaunte and her family/team!

I also really like the thought and care they put into exposing the kids to various cultures and ideas, especially around specific holidays and foods. The garden they have in the back and the chickens are also a wonderful way to connect with the land.

I feel privileged to have been able to send my older son, and now my younger son has a couple more years there... they will go by too quickly!

I have had nothing but an amazing experience with LUFLS. My son has very involved eczema and food allergies. Shaunte and her team have gone above and beyond to care for him; doing all I have asked with his skincare regimen, even making suggestions for ways that could be helpful. They have always thought of ways to be inclusive around his food allergies rather than exclusive and I am forever grateful. My son thrives at LUFLS. I also appreciate their strict sick policy, as my son has yet to catch something from school. I also appreciate their direct level of communication.

I cannot say enough great things about this place. We enrolled our kiddo at age 2 1/2; he is still here now as a 5-year-old TKer. The terrific facility has a spacious, shady backyard space, a creek, and a dirt play box with play shovels and trucks (which our kiddo loved during the tour). They also have chickens, with whom the kiddos get to interact and learn responsibility and empathy. I love that most of the day, weather permitting, the kids get ample outside time to continue learning.

Hands down, the best reason to enroll is the expert and thoughtful staff. The amount of one-on-one time these kids get also shows how quickly our kiddo learned to read and write. The curriculum is also incredibly well-rounded, exposing the kids to different cultures and customs, fun and educational field trips that engage the kiddos, and weekly activities like gymnastics, yoga, and music.

As a parent, I love that they focus on building a community for the kids, but they also want the parents to have a community. For some field trips, like apple picking, parents are encouraged to come along, but they also host kid-free gatherings for the parents, which is a great way to get to know everyone, including the staff. Additionally, Shaunte, Miss Sani, and the rest of the staff is incredibly supportive, not only in the areas where we wanted our kid to grow and learn, but also as a family when we've been going through tough times. Honestly, the LUFLS has been an extended family for us.

One of the most valuable aspects of their team is how much they've allowed and helped our kiddo grow emotionally and build his resilience. Our kiddo is a sensitive introvert, and LUFLS has cultivated a safe and nurturing space for him so that he feels comfortable coming out of his shell so much that you might mistake him for an extrovert. I am sad we have to move on to Kinder in the fall, but I am so grateful knowing the Little Urban Farmers' team has helped my kid feel ready for this next big step, and I am thankful for all they've done for us.

I'm completely obsessed with Little Urban Farmers Learning Space and I'm thrilled that both my sons have/had the experience of learning with Ms. Shaunte and her team. The is a family owned and operated business which means they take on your little one as if they were part of the family! There are so many things I love about LUFLS, but my favorite feature is that the kids spend most of their day outside in the open backyard, with the chickens, with the sweet dog Max, with the fresh air, in the mud, playing in the watery stream. Since we live in the city, and since most of our lives are sadly spent indoors in this modern society/world, it's nice that our little ones get to kick off their shoes and explore at LUFLS. Ms. Shaunte, Ms Hasani and Ms Nery are loving and thoughtful in their curriculum. Everyone has their own style/desires but I personally WOULD NOT send my kid anywhere else.

When you join Little Urban Farmers, you become part of the family. It’s not just a preschool, it’s truly a community where you as a parent feel confident in where your child spends the day and know that they are not just taken care of, but nurtured to thrive daily.

In the first month that our child started attending, they bursted out of their shell. They were already pretty social, but even in the first week, it was a drastic change in the best way.

Shaunte has really built a place of freedom and confidence for the children. They are allowed to be themselves there, exploring their interests, learning at their own pace and the staff is incredibly attentive to each one of the children and understands their individual needs. The space is beyond your wildest childhood dream. With a creek, mudpit, chicken coop, and a host of other opportunities to play and explore, my child comes back daily with a new experience.

You can tell the impact it has just by simply looking at the families and how willing they are to involve themselves in the activities and field trips throughout the year. They go above and beyond with all that they do, with parent workshops, multiple field trips, and other activities, it’s truly enriching to the child’s life. I cannot thank Shaunte and her team enough for giving both our child and us a safe space to thrive.
