A few weeks ago I started my third and fourth project with Beth, the art instructor at Lost in the Woods art gallery.
I drove from the Palm Springs area specifically to have her as my instructor.
She's incredible and so inspiring.
I took oil classes from her last year when I lived up there for 5 months, and also I did a beautiful acrylic with a pallet knife for the first time.
She's exceptionally patient and thorough with her guidance and most of all, fun.
This time I did an acrylic abstract, which I was scared to death to do...lol. The next day I did an oil pastel desertscape, which I fell in love with. I have such a long way to go, but I have learned so much from her, and she gives me the confidence to go out on my own and to keep practicing and trying. I think she's an incredible artist and I'm honored to be able to take classes from her and pick her brain... I've had other art instructors, and I must say, Beth is my favorite. I have learned to see detail a lot better and I'm never disappointed at the outcome of each project that I have done.

Beth - what a wonderful human! We came in just to explore and she gave me sooo many tips on painting. ? I walked away with useful materials, so many tips to implement into my personal work, plans to book a ceramics class, and hope for humanity. Plus - she was working on a piece while we were there and it was mesmerizing. Can't wait to be back!

Beth is an amazing teacher. So patient and encouraging. I booked a last minute art lesson for my daughter (9), husband and I. We had such a great experience. Since Beth does painting parties too, we will definitely book that in the future for visiting family and friends.

Beth is so talented, matched with a great sense of humor, and instruction. Our private couple's art class was more fun than I ever dreamed 2 of the least artistic individuals could have. With her expertise, charm and wit our paintings came out great and are something to be proud of, along with the great memory. I would highly recommend booking with Beth for a class, paint and sip, or just to buy paint supplies. We will definitely book another class when we go up next time, and most likely every time we visit Big Bear. Did I mention that there was so much laughter the entire time!

When we came to big bear with our toddler we were shocked to see how little things there were to do with him so I started researching places I could bring him and that’s when I found Lost in the Woods. Beth is so friendly and a great artist. We set up a private art lesson for my almost two year old. It is very hard to hold his attention so I didn’t have any expectations. The whole thing was amazing. First of all, Beth is great with kids, she knew exactly how to talk to him. She kept his attention the entire hour and he throughly enjoyed himself. He was smiling and so proud of his final piece of art. We will definitely be going back!

This was my first painting class and I really had no idea it would be as enjoyable as it was. Beth was super nice and the class was a lot of fun. The studio is very nice and encourage those visiting Big Bear to arrange a class. It certainly is worth it.

Beth was great! My whole family including a 5 year old, did the group instructional painting. She makes it such a good experience for us all, we will definitely be back in the summer.
