My partner and I were in town for the day before heading up the coast to a family wedding, we knew we had to stop by. What we thought would be a quick peruse of vintage bikes turned out to be a tour from Joe Breeze. My partner and I were just silently fangirling. What a special treat that was. Joe is an awesome dude and we learned so much more than we expected. I wish we could’ve spent more time in downtown Fairfax to check out their upcoming swap (that was the next day), but we will definitely be back and next time we’re bringing our bikes. Thank you to Joe and the rest of the staff for an awesome experience. Everyone was so welcoming and excited we were there. Yay bikes!!!

Amazing museum!
So kid-friendly! And volunteers who work are so welcoming and knowledgeable! I learned a lot also! We went both on weekend and weekday and had great experience. And they have a treasure hunt for kids(and adults).

Only 126 reviews!! This place is awesome, learn about the history of bikes from the 1800s until present including Marin’s local influence and contributions to the world of mountain biking. Curated by the builders of the first mountain bikes on Mt. Tam, local lore and stories fills the halls of this museum. My kids joined me and were provided with a scavenger hunt, while I dreamed of racing downhill with the legends themselves.

Put it on your list!!

What an awesome museum!
The passion of the staff and their knowledge are amazing.
I was lucky to participate in a tour led by Joe Breeze himself, along with a few other visitors. A particular highlight for me was seeing the variety of models on display, showcasing the evolution of mountain bikes over the years.
I highly recommend a visit to learn more about the fascinating history of mountain bikes.
I easily spent 1.5 hours there and will visit the place again the next time I’m in the area of Marin.

Awesome museum with knowledgeable tour guides! My brother, who is a bike enthusiast, came to visit so we made the drive to see this place. We all loved it! Learned so much about bikes and their unique tie to the area. Great value for the price

Amazing collection of vintage and antique bikes, including photos, info and much documentation. The young man working there was very nice, letting me come in to sit (without paying the entrance fee) on a very warm day, and gave me water to drink. I was very impressed by the large collection and spent quite some time marveling at the very old bikes and the beautiful vintage ones. In addition, I especially enjoyed the section on women pioneers in mountain biking.
