Love this park except those few dog owners walking their dogs off-leash.

Most dogs we’ve encountered were small breeds but so far we’ve also encountered two large breeds off the leash. And yes they leave their owners to run toward my dog and as these dog ignores the owners recall they would yell “He is friendly” or just smiles at me 😬

All these dogs we encountered didn’t respond to their owners recall, always runs towards my dogs and some even come and barks at my dog, they roam around freely too far away from their owners. And they even let their dogs go chase the squirrels and bark up the tree.

I wish the Park rangers would patrol the trails and give these selfish owners a ticket. Or at least warn them for not putting the leash on.
Because most would just ignore me when I ask them or don’t seem to speak english enough to understand when I try.

PS: drone flying is illegal here but i still see people flying drones here

Mile Square Regional Park, named for its nearly perfect square shape with each side measuring approximately 1 mile, where you can find your own tranquility amidst the city. Half of the park's area is an 18-hole golf course, making it a pleasant place to walk. The park has two lakes, Palm Island Lake is near Freedom Hall offering swan boat rentals, kayaks, and 1-4 person surrey bikes and single bicycles.

Fishing is allowed here, but anyone aged 16 and above must have a fishing license as uniformed personnel patrol the area will check for it.

The park is also home to many ducks that are remarkably unafraid of people, but be cautious while walking around the lake or on the grass to avoid stepping on duck droppings.

The grassy areas are perfect for picnics, and usually after 4PM, many people jog or bike along the park's trails. A full loop around the park, or a walk by the lakes can easily help me reach over 10,000 steps per day and I really enjoy strolling around here.

Restrooms:
There are public restrooms within the park and they are clean.

Parking:
I parked along Edinger Ave but you can park inside the park.

There are some good restaurants nearby in Fountain Valley Town Center.

The park is great on a normal day, it does get overcrowded on holidays but other than that you will always find parking and space. Lots of things to do like ride bikes, go on runs, play games, do the fitness trail, archery, soccer, baseball, and picnics to name a few. The only reason I put 4 stars is that the rental fees are extremely high and I'm not sure why that is. Other then that park is highly enjoyable for the whole family.

Nice Park was not overly crowded. Nice walkways just going to watch out for the geese and ducks. Nice trails curved in and out so you don't realize how large it is we were only there for maybe less than 2 hours and we got in over 5,000 steps for the day. There should take parking which is much better than trying to park on the outside of the park. I found this out after I parked around the side of this park.

We recently hosted a family day event for our military unit at Mile Square Regional Park, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The park offers a beautiful, spacious setting with well-maintained picnic areas, plenty of open space for activities, and an overall welcoming atmosphere.

The variety of amenities, including playgrounds for the kids and ample shaded areas for relaxation, made it the perfect spot for a large group gathering. The staff was also incredibly accommodating, helping ensure our event ran smoothly. Everyone who attended had a great time, and the park’s peaceful environment made it easy to enjoy quality time with our families.

Mile Square Park truly exceeded our expectations, and we highly recommend it for any group event or day out with family and friends. We’ll definitely be coming back for future gatherings!

Very nice park, although the 7 dollars fee of entrance when it is a holiday is way too much.
