We arrived shortly after 3, really not enough time to see everything before closing, so plan to come back another time to see more! But we had fun while there. And the lady working the gift shoppe was a lot of fun. It’s really a must do if you love Mardi Gras. Allow yourself a couple hours so you can take your time and peruse.

This was a great experience and great way to learn about the history of Carnival and end the great debate of who had the first Mardi Gras.... Very informative, very cool to see how much different the Mobile Mardi Gras is from the NOLA Mardi Gras. A must see if you are in Mobile or even just passing through!

Walked in and paid $8 per ticket. We received a guided tour by Craig who was amazing and full of information about the history of Mardi Gras and mobile. I learned so much and would love to come back to Mobile to experience Mardi Gras in the future.

Nice museum with some interesting memorabilia from Mardi Gras. I never realized how much of an investment the festival encumbered.
I also don't understand all the mystic societies that are represented. It's pretty obvious that the festival was very segregated for most of its existence. It would have been nice if that aspect of the history was addressed in the museum.
The museum is self directed with an app that describes the different stations of the tour. There are 70 or so stations, so it does take some time to complete the tour.

What a cool experience. I appreciate there’s a guided option or a self guided with your phone.

The location is amazing. An old HUGE house with friendly employees who welcome you as soon as you walk in and have so much knowledge to share.

I've always associated Mardi Gras with New Orleans so this was a very eye opening experience. Well worth the price of admission. Our docent Katherine (hope I spelled her name right?) was such a doll! Very knowledgeable and pleasant. The costumes on display are SO elaborate and beautiful!! Such a rich history with so much tradition, pomp and circumstance. Highly recommend.

A very unexpected experience at this place. So much history and the displays are simply insane. As we walked from room to room enjoying the craftmanship that was on display was one of a kind for us. The colors and designs are so unique you can’t believe it’s real. A fantastic way to spend a few hours enjoying the history of Mobile and suck up some A/C. Stop and check it out.
