Current exhibition is more than just a retrospective; it's a celebration of artistic audacity and environmental awareness. The documentation of the 'Surrounded Islands' project reveals the dedication and passion that went into creating this ephemeral masterpiece. It's an experience that will leave you pondering the relationship between art and the landscape.

Looking for something to do today, we decided to visit this museum. The entrance fee was reasonable, but the museum was smaller than I expected. It also had a lot of modern and abstract art, which isn't really my thing. That said, there were still some interesting exhibits. The museum also has a gift shop and cafe, though we didn't have a chance to check them out.

Very good contemporary art museum in Downtown Ft. Lauderdale. Open till 7 pm on Thursdays. After it, one can take a very nice stroll down Las Olas Boulevard.

This museum is very nice but can be very very boring for kids or anyone who doesn’t really like art. The displays were very pretty but the staff were always following you around making sure you don’t touch anything! Also no food or water is allowed inside! Also it wasent that busy

Very small museum with only 2 floors. Takes 30 mts to an hour to see it all. Overhead spot lights caused distracting glare on the art. It was overkill that 4 rooms were dedicated to one artist, Louis Glackens. A retrospect of 3 local artists was shown. It's great to support local artists but the pieces were lacking. Gift shop was nice. Staff and security were polite. Would not come back.

Went on a rainy day an hour before closing, so in terms of crowds, it was just us and a handful of people. Loved the abstract art! My favorite was the 2nd floor. Jaime Grant had his whole collection upstairs which was fun. Would recommend stopping by!

My second visit. The first was somewhat uneventful. Small exhibit. In and out quickly. But this current visit was much more entertaining and visually pleasant. There was an array of art modalities from paint to photography to sculpture. It took much more time to absorb. Every first Thursday of the month is free admission. Two floors of exhibits. Nice gift shop. Food and snacks offered. Family friendly if the exhibit is suitable for children. This exhibit had a free pinball machine. Kids loved that. Tours offered. Friendly staff for questions. Bathroom facilities. Parking garages and street parking for a fee, of course. Garage price reasonable.

Not a bad place to spend an afternoon. $16 might be a bit too high for the experience. Some pieces of art were great (like the piece with beads), others not that inspiring (I'm not a fan of seeing the pencil markings bleed through the paint). Tourists strolling downtown would enjoy it because they can see all of it quite quickly, in about an hour, and continue to enjoy other parts of downtown. But for serious art enthusiasts, you may find it more rewarding to check out art galleries on Las Olas, and Flagler village and ArtServe. The art surrounding the old Sears center on US1 is incredible...and free...just look out your car. I felt that the level of effort and craft that went into those pieces was just far greater.

The staff were really friendly and the cafe looked nice though. I think the museum has great potential considering its size and layout. My opinion might brighten up if I see different exhibits in the future.
