Wonderfully restored and maintained historical former state house that should be on everyone's "must visit" list if in the Little Rock area. So much history is contained within the grounds and building and plaques within the building provide brief explanations. The grounds are well-preserved and provide a flavor of the classic Southern charm.
The gift shop has many items that will interest any tourist.
And don't forget to leave a donation in the box if you can (the museum is free).

An interesting piece of history to check out. It will take you about an hour to see the entire exhibit. You will learn about the history of the building, its occupants, renovation, and a lot more. Admission is FREE.

As a bonus, there is usually another exhibition available in one of the wings of the building. Currently it’s the “Play it Loud” - a look back at the music events that took place in the state.

Stopped by this museum during a business trip to Little Rock. The admission was free and you can see all the exhibits in less than an hour so it is a great way to spend some time and learn some Arkansas history. There are two accessible levels and some exhibits outside as well. It was a nice stop and I would visit again in the future.

The Old State House Museum tops the bucket list each year for our International Student Exchange Ambassadors that study in Arkansas from overseas back home. They enjoy the history and, of course, the haunted room upstairs.
