Visiting LA on 29 August and headed straight to PACE after checking into hotel. Just in the nick of time as the Gordon Parks show closed the following day. Parks — truly a master of the art and craft of photography and film and documentary. His body of work is vast and this show touched many aspects. The short film upon entering was an indictment of institutional racism — hard to watch and comprehend and undoubtedly still a lot of work to be done.
PACE is a work of art in itself — from the entry courtyard to the massive French doors (beautiful light), polished concrete floors, and those sky high ceilings!

Very nice gallery and loved the Gordon Parks exhibit. For a gallery reception, valet parking would have been nice. Limited street parking.

It is rare when you held your breathe the moment you opened the gate of a gallery that you hadn’t been to and became more enchanted as you entered the exhibition space. Sculptures by the hands of various artists – all here together, harmonious, quiet, telling its own story.

Gorgeous space with exceptional curation. James Turrell partnered on the design of one of their conference rooms which is worth a visit (usually during a show opening).

Decent gallery in a great space that shows mostly blue chip artists. They have a James Turrell skyroom that is open at limited times that is worth a visit. Nothing amazingly innovative going on here but usually the art is decent.

Really cool tiny gallery off the beaten path. Great display of contemporary art and a beautiful courtyard. Lighting is very well managed.
