Planet Fitness, Richmond CA

It always smells good when Tonya works here.

In the morning when I arrive, I’m usually met at the door with an invisible curtain of fresh scent and signs instructing to be careful because of the clean wet floor.

I love it! I always see Tonya cleaning and refilling the cleaning stations and locker rooms. Not only is there signage of where she is cleaning, but also there’s the scent of “not-gym” smell, aka clean and fresh.

The facility is being kept beautiful by this lovely employee, who calls me out by name every morning, and this location (Richmond, CA) is a great location to visit.

When getting ready to head to Planet Fitness (Richmond, CA), the vehicle asked, do you want to go where you normally go: to the gym?
Why, yes! I would.
So proud of myself.

A really poorly maintained PF. Ants in the black card rooms for weeks now, same areas dirty in the bathroom, and nothing dusted. As someone who used to work for Planet Fitness and opened four locations for them in CA, I am shocked that these look the way they do. They need a Regional Manager to oversee these locations, and someone who will hold the standard and staff accountable. It is my understanding that these locations are corporate-owned. If that’s true, this is embarrassing.

I love planet fitness, it has been my go to gym for a long time now. The reason I am giving it 4 stars is because, is there better gyms out there? Yes I am sure there is. However, for the price you are paying it is a great place to work out. There is the fact that they are open late and I believe still have 24 hour locations. They have a lot of equipment there to fit everyone's needs. If you are a black card holder you can have a guest plus access to things like tanning beds and extra things. They have a locker room for men and women, respectively. The staff at this location seems nice so far. The only thing I wish they would change is the plan options, there should be some kind of family plan. I would love it to be just one neat bill instead of everyone needing a black membership to go and do everything. If you are also wanting a good gym to work out at I would definitely recommend it, especially on a budget.

Been a member for around 2 years. Place is always clean and members are always non problematic. I love the massage chaira and free shower and water. I'm sure there are other gyms with more equipment varieties but the price makes it justified.

Just joined today with a Medicare benefit and I am so happy. Went to a competitor in the morning where after being ignored, i was begrudgingly signed up and given no information. At Planet Fitness, i was helped immediately, service was professional and I was given a tour. Plus, the equipment was nicer and the place cleaner. Definitely my new gym!

This was my first PF I was a member to before they sprouted around.

Staff welcoming, facility clean for being in between the hours which I think are peak (late afternoon), older machines but still does the job, and what I always look forward to….WARM showers! Does not take time to run the water to warm up.

Definitely a usable and functional Planet Fitness/gym overall. The staff are very friendly. If I could give 3.5 stars I would just because of them. The men's locker room is usually not in a very good condition, particularly the bathroom (smells and such). There is about a 5% broken machine rate. Also, there are a high number of clients that "set up shop" at limited resource equipment. Lastly, the parking lot can get very crowded at peak times and becomes a bit of a mess. Otherwise, I don't have complaints and use this Planet Fitness very frequently.

Fully equipped with awesome staffs. I have been to many other location of planet fitness but this one in richmond is cool than many other. They got huge space inside. Restroom are clean and got plenty of parking space.
