I came in on a fall foliage drive on a very, very foggy day. The hiking was still fun on one of the little Trails out front. However, I could not see anything at all and I imagine it was a great view.

The restaurants food was pretty good and the host was very nice. The beer selection is nice and delicious.

The gift shop has some very nice things. So, I did get a nice undershirt for future hikes as well.

I will probably come back this way again for another Fall foliage hike and drive another year.

Restaurant is not high-end, but decent. Reuben sandwich and fries okra was quite good. Country fried steak was not bad. Views are over the top! There is a lobby with games and places to sit and enjoy the view.

Situated on a tall ridge you can see for miles. From the lodge you see amazing sunsets and sunrises. The cabin is very nice as it's been recently renovated. It would comfortably sleep 4 adults or 2 adults and maybe 3 to 4 kids including the couches. The cabin is accessible with a mostly flat entry and small thresholds plus the deck is level with the parking spaces. There's a Keurig coffee maker, stove, and dishes in the kitchen.

Second visit. Staff is amazing and the view is as well. Hiked a different trail each visit. We plan to make this a yearly thing for the family because we all enjoy it so much.

At the end of The Talamina drive at the top of the mountain is the Queen Willamina Lodge. We look forward to eating lunch every year when we do the drive. The food is always hot and fresh. It is a great atmosphere, the windows are large so you can see the mountain view. I would definitely recommend.

I decided to stay at the Queen Wilhelmina Lodge for a couple of days as I was traveling the Talimena Scenic Byway, and I wish I had planned more days. The first experience I had was the friendly front desk staff who let me know my room was ready far earlier than 4, and I was checked in quickly. The room was pristine, and included small toiletries, plenty of towels, and very soft beds. There are chairs and a table in the rooms as well, and a spacious dresser. There is cable television included, WiFi, and more outlets than you could ever need.

The lodge itself has plenty of decks to sit on and watch the beautiful sunrise and sunset, and there is a communal living room with a fireplace I loved to sit and read a novel in front of. The gift shop has everything you could have forgotten to pack along with snacks and the usual t shirts and souvenirs. The best part - it’s 24 hrs as is the front desk. It was so easy to get more towels and toiletries.

The trails around the lodge are well maintained and there are varying difficulty so everyone can hike. I am not athletic AT ALL, but was able to do most of the trails with pauses. The Lover’s Leap trail is a don’t miss - just wait until you get to the observation deck.

The Lodge also has a restaurant open from 7-9, and the food is GOOD. Over a few days, I had the fried chicken tender dinner, meatball appetizer with a salad, pancake breakfast, and princess breakfast (oatmeal), and it was all well seasoned. One note - skip the mashed potatoes and go for the homemade chips. The mashed must be instant, but the chips are hand cut and fried in house. Also, don’t miss out on the handmade meatballs. I also had a fantastic slice of freshly made chocolate pie. The restaurant staff is extremely friendly and quick. I ate during peak hours one morning and the server apologized for a delay in getting to me, but I thought the service was very fast.

I cannot wait to return to the lodge, and I hope to be there over the winter holidays to see it in its full beauty. One last note - pay the extra $12 for a South-facing room. Just trust me.
