I’ve participated in both weddings and professional events here over the years, and it’s quickly become a favorite venue of mine in the Bay Area. We hosted a 4-day family and friends gathering for a celebration at the Ralston White Retreat, and it has been exactly what we have been looking for. It is still within an easy-ish distance to drive to-fro the city (albeit on a very tortuous, narrow one-lane road), and yet it provides a wonderful, quiet "retreat" away from the hustle and bustle of town. The beautiful, natural surroundings with the redwood trees provides a wonderful respite, and hiking trails are easily accessible from the grounds.

The house itself is a wonderful, charming, old mansion that is not fussy and provides the non-pretentiousness for which we have been looking. Since the mansion has been converted from a single-family home to its current state, the bedrooms and bathrooms are configured somewhat interestingly although they contribute to the venue's charm and uniqueness. Kids (and adults) will definitely enjoy exploring the venue, both inside and outside.

Finally, the staff has been wonderful in communication and hospitality. We will definitely rent this venue again if need arises in the future! Highly recommend!

I can't say enough good things about the retreat. It's a big old house with what seems like dozens of rooms nestled in the woods north of San Francisco. There are good facilities that provide pretty good food; the beds are comfortable, the staff is unobtrusive and friendly, and the grounds are beautiful for exploring. There's even parking.

It's hard to get to without a car, so you may be able to take a Lyft there but getting one out may be challenging.

That said, there place is restorative and a perfect place to have an intimate event.

Kind of like a frat house for grown-ups. Very nice staff excellent health food options. Sleeping is dorm like rooms with 2-8 people and shred washrooms. Lots of space and very lovely natural setting. Loads of trails for hiking, running and mountain biking.

A perfect destination for almost any group wanting to get away and focus on a task or goal. Very accommodating staff. Delicious food. Quiet and secluded yet not at all far from San Francisco. Various configurations of bedrooms and bathrooms. Hiking trails. Large porch and sloping lawn. Ping pong.
