The Riker Hill Fossil Site is an easily accessible location, with ample parking available on-site. The trails are well-maintained and suitable for all ages. Families with children often visit the site, as it provides an engaging educational experience while also being safe and enjoyable.

Although the park has been well-picked over by fossil collectors, visitors can still expect to find a few visible fossils along the trail. These may include imprints that could be plant stems, providing a glimpse into the area's rich geological history. It's worth noting that some visitors have found it challenging to locate the site using Google Maps directions. Therefore, it's recommended to navigate directly to the park and follow the signs.

The trail itself is relatively short and easy, taking approximately 30 minutes to complete. It is well-marked with blue blazes, making it difficult to get lost. While some visitors have had limited success in finding fossils, the pleasant walk itself and the opportunity to learn about the site's history make it a worthwhile experience.

The trail is easy, maybe takes 30 mins, but is hard to find. Don't follow the Google map directions here. Instead go to the park. There is some side parking near the houses. The trail is to the right before the bridge. I couldn't find any fossils. I think the park has been well picked over. But it is a nice walk.

Nice old quarry with some visible fossils. About a 15 minute hike from trail head. Trail has blue blazes. I saw some imprints that could have been plant stems. It looks like fossil collectors are active here.

*Do not use Google maps to find this place.*
It is near the entrance of Becker Park on Locust Ave in Roseland, NJ. Enter Becker Park. Before the stone bridge look to your right. You will see a path if its not too overgrown. We missed it twice, but its there.

It was a good hike. The return hike to parking area is a bit more challenging. There's lots of geological strata to observe at varying altitudes. Great examples of sedimentary deposition, lava flow and glacial erratics.

A beautiful location, but I couldn’t find any public parking, or the fossils themselves- probably just google had the wrong location for the driving directions and I didn’t have enough time to explore at length.

I ended up being directed to the Livingston sculpture hilltop instead
