I understand that the rodeo is an important part of the community, and I truly respect that. However, I kindly urge you to please turn off those extremely bright lights at night. The residents of Abiquiú deeply value the ability to see the stars without any light pollution — it’s one of the most special things about living here.

When those lights are left on all night for no apparent reason, it takes away from that experience. From up here in the mountains, we can see clearly whether there’s an event or activity going on — and more often than not, there isn’t. So please, consider turning them off when they’re not needed. We’d all really appreciate it.
