What a fantastic museum located right on the waterfront of the San Francisco Bay! We parked near the Ferry parking lot and enjoyed a leisurely walk along the bay, taking in the stunning views of the water and the surrounding industrial buildings. The museum itself is situated in the historic location of the Kaiser shipyards, which adds to its charm. There's even a delightful restaurant right next door.

Admission was free, and the park rangers and volunteers on staff were incredibly helpful and informative. My daughter participated in the Junior Ranger program, and we explored the entire museum together. She was truly impressed by the wealth of information provided.

The 20-minute film in the basement theater was particularly moving and brought tears to my eyes. I am so grateful for all the “Rosies” and their remarkable journeys.

Small museum. Enjoyed the movie and the staff were willing and available to share history. The entrance is a bit unusual as it seems that you are pulling into an assembly plant parking lot, but it you continue you will get to the museum. The entrance is water side so away from the parking lot. It is wheelchair ♿️ accessible. There is an elevator and it can take you to the basement bathroom and had an accessible stall. The theater was also accessible.

I am impressed with the extensive history provided on the female workers on the waterfront during WWII. Great history also on Henry J Kaiser and his impact.
The volunteers are quite friendly. A sweet gift shop there with Rosie memorabilia.
And the views outside cannot be beat.

Beautiful bay-side, the museum is small but amazing. Kind docents!

There is a huge old factory next door which is now a multi-use facility. The SF ferry is right there, too.

What a great area in a very industrial city!

I've lived in the East Bay all my life. Never knew the incredible history of Richmond and the woman who helped win WWII. This is a must see. Also make time to watch the videos. Really well done. Also a call out to the Park Rangers who run the place. They are super helpful and passionate about their jobs.

Wonderful little museum and visitor center about the war effort on the home front, in the form of labor and sacrifices made.
