Campus is beautiful, home to some very nice familes, but
Very political and vindictive administration. Communication about important issues lacks but daily communication about nothing abounds. Equity between schools (high-school and elementary) is concerning and definitely a question you should ask if applying.

Inequalities abound amongst racist structures that prevent the school from imparting unbiased handling of personnel as well as meeting students needs. The difference from the early childhood, first through third grades to middle school and high school are astronomical. While the early childhood and lower grades have a robust and adequate program, the inability of the school to sustain and attract qualified teachers translates into the pedagogy getting lost. At the high school level, and penetrating into the middle school, is a drive of hyper specialization in subjects that demand college level rigor. The workload is immense and many students experience anxiety and learn to acquire perfectionism traits that color their entire outlook on academia and the way they measure their success. This is in contrast with the precepts of Waldorf pedagogy which is meant to educate people in freedom so they can meet their destiny; whatever that may be. If your student is interested in the trades after high school, performs average or below average, experiences test anxiety, or is neurodivergent, this is not the right school. The high school is similar to a college prep. I would caution Black and families of color when previewing this school. While their literature and outward appearance may speak of a “woke” impulse, racism and politics are deeply entrenched within the working system at this school. Unfortunately, the idyllic setting along the American River and working biodynamic farm is not enough to set this school apart.

A fantastic school! Our daughter was in the public school system and wasn't doing as well as she could. Classes were too big and she was not paid attention too. She has been going to Waldorf for 4 years now and she's thriving!! She's so happy and is learning all sorts of amazing skills, languages and making lots of friends! We love this school!!

My daughter's application was rejected before I even completed the admissions process. It seems that the admissions team is looking for something other than student’s potential!
