I drove from out of town to see this historical museum, looked on google and it says this museum was open but upon arrival the sign says the museum is closed. That was so disappointing , then I preceded to call the phone number hoping just maybe they were running late of opening the museum, a gentleman answered the phone and said “safe house museum how can I help you” he wasn’t present at the museum but he answered the call. He preceded to tell me that “ it would help to call first before arriving “ well I didn’t know and I had no idea I just went by what they had on google which was the opening and closing time. So I’m letting someone know that if you want to visit this museum please call before you go!!! Even though I told this man I was from out of town and I wanted to see this museum all he said was “I’m sorry “ and wouldn’t come and open the museum even though on google it says the museum is open

Inspiring story of how Alabama people were the foot soldiers, risking all for a better future. Things have improved but a new effort is needed. Especially since they were fighting for the right to vote, every African American in America needs to vote!

Meaningful history is preserved in this museum. I always enjoy my visit there, learning from the individuals who are there to share about the history of the house and how Dr. King was given safe refuge in the house.
