Ms. V, the teacher, actually answered the phone when I called to make an appointment, and I was able to meet her in person. What an amazing person inside and out. She really is a breath of fresh air at the school. Students must love having her. She's so kind, loving, and respectful, and she cares about your needs and what you want. She actually asked questions first before just assuming to send me to anyone in the school for services. I was able to show her my hair and tell her what I wanted, and she expressed to me the options and what she felt would be best for my hair. I just want to thank them for everything they did. This will be the school I go to for services. Without teachers like her, schools wouldn't exist for people like me.

I had come in today for a manicure and a blow dry and I was really impressed with the atmosphere of the salon and my stylist Savannah. She was very helpful and enthusiastic. Will definitely be back again.

I came in for a perm, and they are the best and nicest staff. They were patient and did an amazing job, and everything at an amazing price as well! Make sure to go to Grecia, Miss Linda, Rea, Ms.Karina, they went out of their way to bring perm rods. Much appreciated!

We had arrived for a return visit with Kali, for a root touch up with an option of getting the highlights refresed with tonner and Ms. V had scheduled us a 2:00 PM appointment and ensured us we would have enough time to do everything we wanted. Upon entering the instructors were rude, the student who helped us, Kali, seemed to be in a rush and uninterested in preforming the service that my sister wanted. It took her over 30 minutes just to go into the back to mix the color for the touch up and then when she finally came back it took her nearly 2 hours just to apply the color to the roots. We didn't think that was an issue as we figured she was just trying to be thorough. Turns out that even after taking two hours to apply the dye she still missed spots according to Karina. We had requested toner as well, multiple times from her and the instructors and she kept insisting that there wasn't enough time, even though they could be applied at the same time. When I noticed that Kali was taking an extremely long time to apply the dye I went over and spoke to an instructor asking if they might step in and help to ensure that we had time to have the tonner applied so that we could ensure we left with the complete service that my sister wanted. She ensured me that they would step in and help if it was needed. Kali had an instructor come over to speak to us, the instructor was very rude and acted as if we were a problem because we were insisting on having the hair toned, like we had asked for upon entering the salon. She began to argue with my sister about prices and the length of the hair, which interestingly occured just as we began to get frustrated. She made a big deal about saying we would need to pay more, which we had no problem doing! When I pointed out to Keli that she had messed a section on the roots she came back with her finger and took dye from the hair to move over the spot, which did absolutely nothing at all. She became upset when I asked an instructor to come over and assist to correct the error. She was so unprofessional, walked to the back and never bothered to come back while another student and instructor finished her work. When she finally came out to get something from her station she didn't say a word and rudely reached over my sister to grab her hair dryer. Karina, and another student, who came over to correct Kalis root touch and apply the tonner completely rushed through the process and spent a total of 5 minutes reapplying dye to the roots and tonner to the hair. Karina stated that Keli had missed some spots. They made sure to charge us for the complete service and after paying stated there wouldn't be enough time to complete the service. While the dye was still on the roots my sister specifically asked her why the roots looked so light and she assured us the color was fine. Even though they ensured we pay an additional $20 to apply the tonner to pay for a complete service they couldn't be bothered the take 5 minutes to fully dry, let alone style the hair. She acted as if she was doing us a colossal favor by running a blow dryer through the hair and then rushed us out. My sister has dark brown hair and her roots were left bright ORANGE and the highlights BLACK. Karina called to confirm my appointment today I expressed to her my concerns and she made a blanket statement that the work is done by students, as if that was new information to us. She seemed very indifferent and didn't even bother to offer for us to come back in and have them fix it. Although that was the gesture I'd have expected I'd never go back there! The students making a mistake is one thing but when an instructor steps in to fix the problem and makes it worse there is a bigger problem. We left there feeling horrible, and unwelcomed. I recommend the instructors receive more trainings and the students receive classes on how to professionally handle criticism or customer concerns. I wish we could leave a zero star review, because they honestly don't even deserve 1 star.

Coming in I was not welcomed. I am of ethnic background (African American). I had questions and concerns for my hairs health and safety. Unfortunately I was greeted by a dismissive, receptionist. The older woman in the front desk had no clue how to assess my hair and bluntly claimed she had not a single student who specialized/was familiar with Afro American hair. However, she then shakily claimed that they all have “worked,” with it, but did not “specialize.” Not only this but when asked about what I wanted to do with my hair (although I had called a day before), she told me it would be a problem to cut it while in its natural state. (Which I already knew). She alone was ethnically insensitive to concerns, and very dismissive, as stated before. I completely understand that the lack of ethnic hair exposure may limit the selection of clients, but customer service is a base level trait.
