This is super cool museum! Not only do they have an indoor museum they have a huge outdoor area with various things to look at. When the kids go here for field trips they volunteer their time to come here and play pioneer with the kids. They all dress up and mine for gold, work the blacksmith, make biscuits, etc. A real good time all around.

Located inside Micke Grove Park, I went here for a school Art event. I’ve been to Micke Grove a few times & never realized this museum was on the property. Our event was after hours & school sponsored so we didn’t pay to enter park or museum. Park & museum fees will apply. This is a really cute area that would be great for receptions, pictures. Minimal to no real information is available to public unless you become a member. Not sure how this is a San Joaquin County Park Museum with manicured landscape, minimal public access, while the main picnic areas in Micke Grove are not maintained.

Open Thursday thru Sunday. Large campus with exhibits in many different buildings. Changing exhibits and fun events seasonally. Inexpensive to immerse yourself in San Joaquin History. No food for sale on site, so pack snacks, water, or a picnic lunch.

In all my years of visiting Micke's Grove Park, I've never been to the museum. It was bigger than I expected, with many new and historic buildings. The grounds are beautiful, well kept, and clean. I definitely recommend visiting.

Nice museum in a good location. Price is reasonable...but you also have to pay an extra $5 to park. They also charge an extra $2.50 to use a credit card. There are some marvelous displays, but there are also some that are too cluttered, dark, or difficult to read because they are in corners. At the time I visited, 6 different buildings were closed. If they could address some of these issues and possibly create a combo ticket with the parking booth (which takes credit card with no additional charge), this would be a 5-star museum.

I volunteered to run a station here for my son's class and this was the only picture I took. It's amazing to have had the opportunity to go and learn about the rich history we have right here in San Joaquin Valley. The volunteer staff here were so friendly and helpful. They do such a great job at keeping everything here in pristine condition for the kids and everyone who wants to go check out and enjoy. If you are visiting Micke Grove Park and have some extra time, make sure to stop by. There is a small entry fee to help out with upkeep.

This was a map inside one of the buildings a part of the museum. Beware: this museum is rich in history, has a ton to see, and will take you hours to go through. If you need assistance getting around they have carts available. It's actually very interesting - not dry like some museums I've been to. It's right outside of the Japanese Garden so this is a place you want to take a day trip (or at least a half day trip) on for sure.
