As a traveling superintendent our jobs take us all over. We had a project here in Mena and Darren and his wife Jillian came through in a very short notice to accommodate a place to stay. This historical home is so welcoming and with the great service received there is no doubt for anyone traveling in the area this is the place to stay. The homemade muffins are fantastic and mouth watering. Even got a special treat with a homemade chocolate cake. Great place and awesome owners made this trip one to remember.

I stayed at the Sassafras Inn for work and it was a very nice stay. The Inn is historic and beautifully restored. It feels like stepping back in time. Darren was a gracious and friendly host and his homemade blueberry muffins were amazing. I highly recommend a visit if your in town.

This is our go to place when we are in the Mena area. The rooms are lovely, comfortable and easy access. The owners are a delight to have conversations with and provide a tremendous amount of information for things to do and places to eat. Then you top that with it’s the home of The Ginger Baker! So you can start and finish your day with homemade deserts and muffins! Do yourself a favor and stay you will definitely make it a favorite!

The muffin man and gingered Baker made my stay amazing! I only got to stay one night I was on a work trip. But they made my week. I would recommend staying here for anyone they truly made it feel like home! I can't wait to come back and stay again with them! Stay there have the most spectacular stay. Beds where comfortable environment was amazing. Weekend get away or for a longer stay I would recommend staying here with these wonderful couple! Try some of there baked goods. I know the muffins the muffin man made me were fantastic. I'm looking forward to having some cake here soon! See you soon!

Had an absolutely fantastic stay here in Mena, Arkansas! The rooms were cozy and charming, making it feel like a home away from home. The owner is incredibly knowledgeable about the local history and shared so many fascinating stories. Plus he makes great muffins hence why he is the muffin man. Highly recommend this hidden gem for anyone looking for a peaceful and memorable stay!

We were there in May with our dog and was made right at home. Mr and Mrs Muffin Man❤️ did bake the best muffins and provided other goodies for breakfast or midnight snack. My friends and I stayed here before the eclipse, and felt incredibly welcomed at the Sassafras Inn! The owners are such lovely and welcoming people, and this was a great place to stay and sleep before our hiking trip. The history of the place and their care of the household shines in all the tiny details. (Plus, the muffins are delicious!) If you're looking for a place to stay in Mena, we would highly recommend staying here. 10/10
