I had a wonderful experience adopting from here. I recently relocated to the area and was ready to add a feline companion into my life. Having had positive experiences with other SPCA locations I stopped by for a visit to meet some of the kitties looking for a forever home. I loved the setup of the building with the cats. To be able to mingle and meet with so many different kitties was wonderful. There were so many friendly furry faces it was hard to pick just one. The application process was easy and the staff friendly and helpful. The adoption fees were also very reasonable. If you're thinking about adopting a furry companion stop by for a visit, there's some absolute love bugs here that would adore a forever home.

Too many barriers in place to prevent adoption.

Let’s start with the locked doors. What a nice way to start your journey to rescuing an animal, having to be buzzed in like you’re visiting a jail.

You can only look at the dogs in their cells, you cannot even pet them!!

These dogs are severely neglected. I’m really not sure why this place is not interested in adopting out their dogs.

If you want to rescue a dog (which should be the purpose of the Allegany SPCA) take a drive up to Buffalo and visit the SPCA of Erie County.

You can visit with the dogs, take them on a walk, for a day out. The staff is friendly and inviting.

You’ve got a better chance getting into Harvard than adopting from the Allegany SPCA. What a shame!!

Do not give these people your money.

Do not go here if you want to rescue an animal.

These people are not interested in adopting out their animals. They’re not even interested in letting you meet a dog. We wanted to and could have rescued a dog from here, but we were not even greeted with a hello upon entering. Come to find out that was the boss behind the desk.

I had heard previously the issue with this SPCA is the person in charge, her name is Lynda.

We won’t be donating anymore money. What a shame!

Go to Erie County SPCA in West Seneca if you want to adopt an animal, like we just did!

We recently adopted a Lab mix puppy from this location. Very pleased with the site and the conditions that the rescues are kept in. The personnel are very responsive to the needs of the rescues and the adopting parents. I have been to hundreds of shelters and rescue locations in my time. This is by far the cleanest and best run of them all.

We visited this SPCA looking to maybe adopt a dog and we left with 1 Beautiful 3 mo old puppy + 2 adorable cats. Boy did we hit the jackpot - best pets ever! And Everyone was amazingly helpful and kind. We were heading home the next morning to Pittsburgh, PA and they opened early so we could pick up our new family on our way out of town. 3 yrs later we are happier than ever with our amazing crew - Kaiya the dog, Max the black cat and Eloise the little tuxedo cat who is also the big boss of all of us, including the 100 lb dog.
Thank you SPCA!

Beautiful Place set back off the road. Cats have an inside place and a wire enclosed outside area. Dogs look well groomed and taken care care of. Staff are friendly and helpful.
