This is a stand in line, order at the window, then take it with you place. There are some limited picnic tables out front for good weather eating. Most people are willing to share tables. It’s on the side of the road before Bodega Head on the side of the bay. Street parking only and there’s a small pullout for parking just beyond the restaurant.

The staff was friendly and efficient. They take cards. We ordered clam chowder (delicious) and Dungeness crab sandwiches (plain but good crab). They were out of the sourdough for bread bowls which was disappointing. I also got their chocolate chip cookies which are dense and tasty. $10 for 6. Lots of foot traffic though. Every time I’ve been by, there’s a waiting line to order.

Pretty good clam Chowder and really good crab sandwich!

Came in town to try our some of the clam Chowder and also some of the crab sandwich. I really enjoyed the sandwich it had a lot of crab meat (1/4 LB)

The Chowder is pretty good too, very big pieces of clam! Flavor is good though could be creamier (used to Boston style)

Only ding is that seating is pretty limited and you'll probably have to share a table with other people. The parking situation is a bit rough too I had to circle a few times and finally found a spot 4 minutes away for compact cars.

Definitely go check them out!

Just don’t bother.

We arrived at 3:30pm on Friday, waited an hour in line. Wanted to try out the infamous crab sandwich. To our unpleasant surprise, the sandwich is actually only the size of your palm.

The sandwich is basically the size of a hot dog bun. The entire sandwich was cold. Inside was deshelled crab meat and maybe some mayo. There was nothing spectacular about it except the price at $20 a sandwich.

I think this is the place for people who have never had good seafood before and are willing to pay the price.

We were really excited to try this due to the number of 5 star reviews, but I would never waste my time and money coming back. There are some benches for seating, parking around the area, it does get busy.

This review is purely food based, as everything else was totally acceptable.

This place is supposedly a crowd favorite, so I stopped by to grab a sandwich but was disappointed by the slim selection. Nothing on the sandwich menu really stood out, so we decided to try their “award-winning” clam chowder instead. It was okay—warm and fitting for the chilly morning before our hike.

I noticed other patrons’ sandwiches looked pretty small, so I think the clam chowder was the better choice. Still, while it was decent, it wasn’t anything particularly memorable or worth going out of my way for.

Hands down, the BEST clam chowder I have had in my life. Let me tell you, I’ve eaten a lot of chowder and crab in my life. I visited Spud Point Crab Company for the first time in July of 2021 while on a road trip. First of all, this place is s a picturesque seafood shack that you’d read about locals going to in a Nicholas Sparks book. With the water across the street and all the fishing gear in sight, you know you’re getting fresh food. I got the white clam chowder bowl with bread (they give you a full loaf, great deal). It was absolutely heavenly. The clams and potatoes were so delicious and the broth had the best flavoring to it. It’s the original white clam chowder but somehow so different and better than any other you’ll have. The next summer I planned another road trip with Spud Point being one of my main motivators. This time, I was prepared. I ordered three white clam chowders and a crab sandwich. After eating one chowder, I decided two was not enough to take with me so I ordered one more. That’s right, I ate leftovers for lunch and dinner the next three days (and that’s only cause I ate it as sparingly as my will power allowed). The crab sandwich was also AMAZING and I wish I got three of those, too. So fresh and delicious. We continued our trip and I ordered chowder everywhere we went so I could compare it to Spud Point. It just wasn’t even a competition, nothing compared.
I cannot recommend this place enough. I probably should have mentioned earlier that I live in Maryland, across the country from Spud Point. I literally planned a road trip to go back there after the first trip because it was that life changing. The only thing that pains me is that they are so far from me, because when I am craving chowder, now nothing around me will suffice. I live in Maryland but the only crab I want is the sandwich from Spud Point!!! Best clam chowder ever, it has my heart. I can’t wait to go back.
(I’ve also never written a review about food but had to for this.)

Crab sandwich is to die for!!!! Clam chowder was good, but not my fav in bodega bay. The Manhattan clam chowder though was amazing and unique for this area. Line is long but goes quickly. It’s also great that you grab your food right as you order it. We will have to come back to try some of the other sandwiches

There is a line up but it's worth it. The best clam chowder I've ever had. I think it's the garlic that adds to the delicious taste. We ordered the New England chowder with a loaf of sourdough bread. We got there around 2 pm and they had 2 loaves left. We got 1. We shared a table. We waited about 30 min in line. The line never got shorter while we were there.

We researched before our Camping trip .. great reviews. We were strolling to some shops n checking out different eateries ..One man said .. yes Spud Ot .. great.
He was right .. only few tables outside .. Chose Manhattan Chowder (white) was piping hot .. delicious ? .. even the crackers was buttery . When Hubby was in line ordering ... I secured a table n sat n waited .
It was satisfying ?
After, walked across to the Bay n there were benches !! We would have loved to sat there , eat n watch .. lots of boats parked.
Oh well .. still wonderful n relaxing to be together .. enjoying the day

Spuds is truly the place ?❤️
