Had our first experience at the Backyard enjoying the music of Julietta Venegas. The sound and the atmosphere was totally awesome! The crowd was very chill. Couple things though...the beers are expensive, and there isn't enough lighting for the Porta potty area at all. People were using their phone flashlight so they could see. All in all, we had a really great time and look forward to the next.

This is an awesome place to see a show! Small venue with big sound. They allow you to bring in chairs. The beer was $14 for a tall can. $20 for parking. I recommend you see a show here before it gets too popular.

Outside venue with very little shade and no seats. Bring sealed water bottles and refill stations available inside the venue. VIP is a tiny fake grass area raised about 5 ft and off to the side, not worth the upgrade price. Drink prices are pretty expensive, stick to canned drinks and skip the weak cocktails that are under poured.

Was very excited for a new music venue, especially an outdoor one. I think the heat must have affected the previous reviews experience because last night was beautiful our experience couldn't have been any different. Quick very easy entry through security. The venue is very wide open and allows you to move freely . Drinks are over priced but where are they not these days. Staff was super friendly. No over bearing security, very chill vibe.Sound was amazing, stage set up was gorgeous, we were able to get to the very front with no problem. We can't wait to see another show there

Nice venue, on the smaller side for an outdoor venue but still plenty big for the crowd to get to and from the food, water, and merch areas without stepping all over each other. Small hills throughout the standing area provided some nice viewing areas of the stage even from farther back, which was nice for us not so tall people!

Drinks: Overpriced and under poured. Different cup sizes for the same drinks. Coke didn't taste like Coke.
Floor: Zero shade unless you're at the picnic tables in the back with no view. ADA seating is basically non-existent. VIP is hardly that; a tiny hill that is not worth twice the price of admission.
Audio: Sounds fine for an outdoor venue.
Parking: Little direction and overpriced. Parking is about 45% the cost of the ticket price. Insanity.

This is capitalism at its worst.

I'm with the others. Terrible setup. Long hot wait before the gates even opened. Some got the lawn chairs out early. Then another wait as the metal detectors only had 2 passages through 2 plastic bottle minimum but they had to be sealed and not mentioned in advance verbally or in script until at the detectors. So hot fans who might of taken a sip from one now had to chug it down or throw (water only) out. Of course they have bottle water available for wallet ripping or refills from a cattle stil. Band started late. Typical long slow overpriced lines for everything. Went from warm to mild to breezy cold. Band should of mentioned short break after their set as a few fans left early not knowing. I think they played too late lots of people bailing out later Portable toilets no doubt State Fair leftovers. Bands(Los Lonely Boys/Los Lobos) were great but see them some place else than here.

Pretty unfriendly/unwelcoming as a venue in itself. Not enough parking onsite for the number of tickets they sell, charge $20 whether you park there or in the overflow at CalExpo 1/4 mile away, poor visibility for their general admission area, middling audio...

...super friendly staff, though.
