I never thought I was very creative based off past art classes I had tried, but after taking my first Intro/Community class at The Center for Creative Exploration, I discovered so much delight, joy and freedom in the intuitive painting process here! The community and the teachers, Claudia and Maria, are so welcoming, supportive and kind. Painting here is a safe, inclusive and nonjudgemental space to explore, create and connect.

Claudia and Maria are expert teachers who are attuned, compassionate, and gifted in their guidance. As a recovering perfectionist, I have felt such a sense of freedom in the process of creating without focusing on the outcome or result of what my painting looks like. Instead of getting caught up in my mind, the intuitive painting process helps me practice listening to my body, honoring my pace, and "not knowing" is never a problem.

It feels like a revolutionary act to be able to truly create just for myself. It's fun, joyful, freeing, and has been such a supportive and expansive practice for me to hold all of life and it's transitions - the unknown, grief and loss, as well as wonder, deep reverence, and play. Every class is a gem. I couldn't recommend the teachers, community and the studio more!

My two kids attended the 8-week painting program. Such a special place, quiet and intentional. The teachers really pay attention, care and help kids get back to their intuitive creative selves. It’s not about the product, it’s about the journey of pure self expression. Recommend a million times over.

This community is not only a welcoming place for all but also allows oneself slow down and rediscover art as their child-self again! This beautiful, peaceful studio has been an oasis for me over the years. Being as wild and creative as I want to be with creamy, colorful paints is a balm for this soul. And it's a warm, kind community in which I have always felt welcomed. The Painting Studio has been a wonderful tool for me as a process to access the unconscious material in my psyche and to embody it on the canvas. As I look back at the paintings I've done, I see patterns and images that come forward to help me with healing old trauma and to show the way forward. This process is like an active imagination or a dream. It's so creative and I can't imagine not meeting myself at the canvas with the paints ever agin! Claudia is exceptional at helping me stay connected to the images, even if I don't know what they are as they are coming forward. You must take this class!

You can experience that excitement of discovery again at The Painting Studio/Center for Creative Exploration. You will be guided in your journey by intuitive painting master guide Claudia, whose incredibly perceptive guidance has made it possible for me to re-experience the delight I felt with my first brushstrokes.

This approach is process rather than product oriented. You are guided not to copy, but to draw upon the deepest recesses of your mind, emotions and experience to create something brand new. There is no judgement, no critique. Just gentle guiding questions from Claudia and community.

As I began painting here, my daily life experience took on more color and hue and I began to feel more deeply. Though painting, with Claudia's facilitation, I have gained increased insight into life.
