Charming weekend getaway. My husband and I loved our stay at the Foxie! We stayed in the Blue Room and enjoyed the comfy king bed and clawfoot bath tub. Our breakfast included a baked French toast dish that was absolutely delicious! Overall, impressed with the service, comfort, and central location to explore Sutter Creek!

A charming Victorian Mansion in the Sierra Nevada region. The Inn is located on Main Street but in a surprisingly wonderful environment. Our Anniversary room was lovingly cared for with all the comfort and elegant amenities. The owner of the Inn is extremely thoughtful and caring who pays attention to every detail. The parking facility on the property is nice. This Inn is a haven for the foodies. Two course delicious breakfast was served each morning in a garden setting. The kitchen is run by an award winning chef who not only prepares daily breakfast, but also prepares dinner for the guests in a private setting upon request. The four course dinner we had one night was memorable. We also had the luxury of getting private messages in a parlor within the property organized by the owner. I highly recommend the private dining and the message experience.
We have also enjoyed- wine testing in the local wineries, visit to the historic Knight Foundry and local shops along the Main Street.
Overall it was an unforgettable experience for my wife and I. We will return to Foxie in heartbeat.

We recently spent our 28th Wedding Anniversary at the Inn and loved every second of it. The gardens are beautiful and due to the Covid restrictions we had breakfast there each morning, which was a treat. The food is excellent and eating in the garden was wonderful. Our room was a step back in time but with all the amenities anyone would need. It was quiet and so comfortable. The new owner is a delightful young lady who was very gracious and welcoming, Everything about this Inn is wonderful. the staff, the food, the gardens, the whole experience was amazing. We spent a day in the Amador Wine country, which is close and convenient. We fell in love with the Inn and the city of Sutter Creek. We will definitely be back; hopefully, soon.

I booked through Airbnb and arrived. The place was closed. No one was there. I messaged the hosts. They read my message and never responded. I wasted an hour trying to talk to unhelpful Airbnb representatives only to be told that I'm out of luck because the hosts had made a mistake - the inn wasn't open. The host was "unaware" that the room had been booked. At the very least, I expected an explanation of what went wrong. We will not be trying to stay here again.

We had a wonderful two night stay in the Blue Room. This is a large room with great natural lighting. The remote check-in & out was surprisingly nice. Usually, I like in-person communication when staying at a new place but the lines of communication were on point. They sent a couple of emails prior to our visit with thorough descriptions of how to check-in and where our room was located. Then, the day of check-in, they started texting us to welcome our arrival. Once we arrived, they greeted us again via text and reminded us to place our breakfast order for the next morning, before 5pm. There are notes throughout the room and fresh cookies and water to greet you. Loved the cookies!
The first night of our stay, we sat out in the garden area and enjoyed the peace. I wish the water feature would have been working but that's just our personal preference because we love water features. We did order the Breakfast in Bed option for the next morning which was nice and relaxing. The food was delivered on time and was beautifully displayed. You could tell they put a lot of care into making the meal as special as possible.
The Foxie is pretty much right at the beginning of town on Main Street which makes it very easy to come back and forth throughout the day in case you purchase too much. ~LOL
We plan on staying at The Foxie again! We'll probably try one of the other rooms just to see another theme but I am worried it won't hold up to the experience we had in the Blue Room. Thank you, for the lovely experience!

We have stayed at this Inn many times when it was The Foxes Inn owned by Helwig and Heather was the innkeeper. We loved it! We heard it had been sold and decided for our 41st wedding anniversary to give it a try now that there are new owners. We so wish we hadn’t. We are so sad and disappointed. The building itself is still charming and its location is perfect but that is it. There is no one to greet you, everything is done via text or email. We never met the innkeeper/owner/staff. No personal connection at all! They say it is due to Covid but we think that is just an excuse as no other establishments we visited in Sutter Creek had those strict guidelines. There is no charm left at the inn. The breakfast was not a two course gourmet meal like before, it was fruit and a chewy bagel or what they called a ham and cheese croissant which tasted store-bought with deli ham and American cheese and heated in the microwave. The coffee cups were ice cold and they only give you enough coffee for one cup each. Skip breakfast and go out to eat instead. There are no fresh cookies in the parlor anymore, only a few in your room when you arrive. Our comforter was soiled, one towel was ripped, and only one bar of soap available for the sink, tub, and shower. The plush robes are no longer provided. There is no attention to detail, it is now just a place to sleep. We will not return and cannot recommend this establishment.

I was very disappointed in our recent stay for my daughter's Bachelorette getaway. I came out a few months earlier to meet with the new owner and make sure everything would be nice. ( we previously had reservations with the prior owner but postponed our trip due to covid). She assured me that our stay would be special and that they were making a lot of new improvements. ( I had been coming to the Fox Inn for several years and loved it ). She told me she was going to book in town wine tasting and help with a scavenger hunt. She also said we could book mani pedi's and possibly do yoga. I sent out an email to everyone excited about it.. Let me tell you what happened: First of all she is a liar!!! I never saw her the whole weekend!! She sent out an email letting people know how to get into their rooms, but because I had booked the rooms not everyone got the email. Also, I never heard from her until the week before when I kept asking about the wine tasting. Finally the day before she started texting me different times and dates. That should have been my first clue. It was very confusing getting into the rooms and I had to stay behind and wait for the guests so I couldn't go to the tasting rooms. There was no water bottles in the room so I put them in all the rooms myself. Since she, or nobody else was there to greet us or check us in she did not have anyone's contact info, this was important because she only communicates by text. The rooms looked old and there was a dead plant in my room. For breakfast we had to order over email and there was a place that allowed you to give any instructions. My daughter asked for her bagel not to have cream cheese, but you guessed it, it had cream cheese. Several of the breakfast were wrong. I believe they order them somewhere and heat them up. The only help, Dee, was doing everything and she was overwhelmed.||We had dinner with Chef KC at the place, his food is delicious and he is a great guy, but I was filling up water and lighting the candles.||||Everybody was coming to me with questions I felt like I was the innkeeper.||My guests wanted to put their rooms on a different credit card then the one they put their reservation on but never got the chance.||||On Saturday night we came back and it smelled like gas, so we tried calling and texting and NEVER heard from her!!!!!||||I was so horrible disappointing. I had built it up to be such a great place. It is basically a airbnb. You'd be better off doing that and going out to breakfast.||So sad it was such a special place and I feel like I was lied to.||Fortunately the wineries I made reservations with were really nice and my daughter had a great time in spite of the Foxy Inn.||After complaining to her through email she had the nerve to blame us for stained sheets (one of the woman had her period and I changed the SHEETS) This is a horrible place ran by a horrible woman.||||Like||Share

Such a charming gem on an Inn! I came on a quick weekend getaway from San Francisco. The rooms were plush, lovely, well decorated and had everything I needed. I was in love with the brunch that was served. It was delicious and luxurious. Not to mention the best Wine tasting in town is located right next door. Would recommend for a romantic getaway or personal creative weekend in a heartbeat.
