This is one of my favorite places in LA! a great spot to enjoy art, history, and stunning views. Everything is well-organized, with a short shuttle ride offering nice scenery. I loved exploring the gardens, terraces, and fountains, and appreciating the exhibitions. I also enjoyed a glass of wine in perfect weather. Definitely a must-visit in LA!

Parking is paid, but reservations can be made online for free.

This place was amazing! I could hardly believe it was free. You take bus or tram ride to the top of a hill where the views are spectacular from everywhere. When you step inside each building, you are exposed to all kinds of art - sketches, sculpture, watercolor, stained glass, intricately carved furniture, science-based art, performance art and mixed media - just brilliant! and the gardens in the back are not only serene but a great walk after a sandwich or salad from the coffee cart. We saw just about everything in a few hours - well worth the adventure!

We love to stroll through museums. This one didn’t disappoint. There are so many amazing artists, paintings and antiques to checkout. My favorite were the French rooms that were set up in the renaissance period with authentic period furnishings.
The staff was helpful and you can download a FREE app to do audio tours. The fee to enter the museum is FREE as well but… parking is $25.
The grounds are quite large and well kept. There is a beautiful garden to explore and take photos in. The property offers a few dining options. There are multiple “quick” stop coffee and pastry kiosks, one restaurant and a cafeteria. We had hot chocolate and pastries at the snack shop and then had a meal at the cafeteria. Pizza, chicken sandwiches as well as a grilled cheese and fries. The food quality was very good.
Oh… and don’t forget to go to the top of the building and take in the views.

The Getty is absolutely amazing! It's been about 20 years since I last visited. Still absolutely amazing! I was able to bring my wife and three kids. The kids are 11, 12 and 4. The kids did great and enjoyed it. Love all the different art displayed. The garden area was beautiful! The parking was difficult but only because we have a larger vehicle but it was still doable. I always recommend the Getty to anyone that I know will be in the area and has time to visit.

Fantastic experience. Well organized. I would recommend more than a few hours to visit. It's definitely worth your time. I spent 8 hours walking around museum, managed to see every single gallery and spend some good time in the gardens. The gallery is well organized and has a beautiful mixture of art as well as interesting rotating galleries. Staff was very helpful and friendly even to those trying to touch the art. In my opinion this is one of the best art museums in the country. Us not to mention entry is entirely free!!

The best visit in LA. The garden and the view are simply astonishing. The collection covers different art periods and geographies. I loved every moment of this visit.
P.s. the cafeteria is also very good! I'd suggest having lunch here instead of the restaurant

Wow just wow! What a spectacular place! The founder’s vision to create a space where the arts are free and accessible to all is alive and well. Beautiful architecture, lovely gardens, amazing views, and an incredible variety of art and history. We spent all day here and were amazed yet still felt there was more we could see making us hopeful to return again. Entry is free just recommended to reserve a time slot online ahead of time to assure admission, parking is usually $25 at peak hours, tram is free (and fun), and the food court is a bit pricey but has good options. Looking forward to returning again someday to see what rotating exhibits arrive and revisit the beauty.

Wow! Free museum (only need to pay for car parking; reserve your free ticket beforehand!!) with great variety of art, including some famous paintings like Irises of Monet. The museum complex building itself is an art. They also have extensive dining options.
