Everyone at Maile is so kind and experienced! They are really in your corner and want you to succeed! I've learned so much from my modeling/commercial class that I had to sign up for the acting class too! super excited to continue learning from Maile because they instill me with the confidence and skills I need to be a professional!

I took a three month TV & Film acting course. For anyone interesting in film acting, I wouldn't bother with this school. They focus almost solely on commercial acting. The program is taught by different teachers who don't seem to discuss their methods amongst each other, as they are constantly giving contradicting information. What I was most shocked by was the condescending attitude of the teachers. This class was an adult only class, so I see no reason as to why I was on the receiving end of some snarky comment or an eye roll at every single class. The teachers seemed like they were not looking for you to succeed. Overall extremely negative and would put down students whenever there was talk of succeeding outside of Orlando commercials. In one instance, a teacher went on a tangent on how he knew people who went to Los Angeles in search of acting jobs and "never made it back." And no, he did not try to end this positively. On top of that, an hour was taken out of the three hour class and dedicated to "mindfulness exercises" that involved meditating and talking about your week. I didn't mind these completely, but to take up a third of the class was excessive. Putting aside my personal experience, my entire class agreed that they felt they hadn't learned anything eight weeks in.

I found Maile School as an institution for learning the craft of acting and story telling and I have to say, this is one amazing school. Not only would you be able to learn the skills as an actor and a storyteller, you can improve and grow your skills as a model as well. Jim Braswell is such an extraordinary teacher. Jim continues to challenge me in my craft and expands on my talent, which in turn helps me become a working actor. I love the learning style and the many classes that are being added to the school that dive's into one's true self. If you are looking for a school that will have you dive deep into yourself so you can dive deep into your character and storytelling, The Maile School is the place to be and the place to learn.

I started taking classes at the Maile school during the summer. It’s been such a great experience and I feel at home. You gain knowledge and great mentors to help guide you throughout the process. Debbie is great with communication if you need to get something through to her. You won’t be disappointed attending this school!

We have had an incredible experience at The Maile School. Their classes are fantastic from acting, modeling to vocal coaching and self-confidence. They have the best coaches. I would recommend to anyone not only looking to enter the industry, but for kids, teens and adults who are looking to improve their communication, presentation, image and confidence skills. I highly recommend the Maile School for anyone who is serious about going into an Acting or Modeling career. The reason I chose the Maile School as the place to launch my acting career is because each instructor has more than 15 years experience in the business and students are taught by at least 3 different instructors during the acting 1 class. This was great because each person has had different experiences that they share with us so that we will be prepared for anything that comes our way. They also shared with us the things that they would do differently if they could do it all again. They taught us strategies for breaking down a script, developing a character, working with other actors, delivering lines in an effective manner, and how to deal with nervousness before a performance. The most impressive part to me was that they taught us about the business. Anybody can go to an audition but if they don't know how to slate properly or what a mark is or when to look into the camera or to the side of it, or if they don't know how to do a cold read, they are not likely to be cast (get the part). They taught us how to do all of that and more. They also gave us guidance on what to expect when working with agents and casting directors. Debby Tapia gave an excellent workshop about the business part of the industry, including a list of agencies that she recommends based on years of working with them. I really enjoyed learning and working with my classmates. I had a great group of people in my class. Part of the reason was because our instructors fostered a safe environment in which we were able to learn and practice acting skills without having to worry about being judged by the instructor or our classmates. If you are serious about entering the acting field, I suggest you start your journey at the Maile school. You cannot go wrong in taking any of the classes there and you will definitely be glad that you chose them as the starting point in your journey.
