I signed up for the beginner class with Denis and all my expectations were exceeded. I was driving a relatively long distance to attend class, so I was hoping this would be the case. It was worth every penny. I have learned all kinds of new skills and tips regarding important tools of the shop. Also, there was never a question I could ask that was too small. Denis was never slow to answer all of my many questions. He has guided me further down the exciting road I have discovered a love for and I am planning to try and join again for the intermediate class later this summer. I Highly recommend this Shop to anyone interested in the craft!

I joined the Woodshop Class in Corona as it was a bucket list item for me at age 63. I joined and spent quite a bit of money for one year of Wood Shop Class going once a week. I found that the owner/instructor cancelled many classes and at the end of my annual course, I believed I should be given those additional classes that he missed, it was a struggle to say the least, but eventually due to the fact that I was going to join another year, he did provide a resolution that was acceptable. I was also advised that if I were out due to medical reasons I could make up those classes. Once again towards the end of the second year the instructor/owner continued to ask if I was going to pay for a 3rd year but did not believe he should credit his cancelled class time or any medical missed classes as he said it would be a wash. (No logic there!) After much discussion he agreed to extend the classes he cancelled. I had two more months to go plus the missed classes to make up so a total of 3 1/2 months left when I told him I was not going to go a third year. Once I told him I was not coming back for a 3rd year he sent me a text saying that last night was your final class and that I owed him but he would take the loss. I would never recommend going to this Course due to the fact that he says if a student misses the class and he misses a class it washes itself out. I’m not sure how that makes sense but that’s what he said. It is not worth the money or the aggravation in having to fight for the courses that you pay for .
At this time I will be filing small claims not for the money but so this does not happen to another student. He obviously needs the money more than I do but the way he went about this was beyond my comprehension.

I have been taking classes with Dennis in woodworking for the past 4 months or so. I wish that I could give Dennis a higher rating than 5 stars because his shop has given me so much more than I could ever ask for. Not only is Dennis a caring and knowledgable instructor, but he is great at following your vision for woodworking projects. The classes can mold to your interests and you can start making that project that you have been thinking of in the first few weeks. The first beginner project is a cutting board. I made one or two for my parents initially, but after how beautifully they turned out, I decided that I can make more and with different designs, so I wanted to max out my potential, and Dennis was supportive right from the start. Not only do I feel safe using the tools in the shop with all the safety precautions, I also feel that I am cared for as a student, and as a friend. I would highly recommend the wood works studio if you're looking to get into it. I had absolutely no experience before taking the first class, but Dennis was able to help me find something I was passionate about and just did not know. Attached a photo of one of my projects so you know it's no lie.

The Wood Works Shop is packed with every kind of power and hand tool you can imagine and instructor Dennis Yuan is there to teach students how to use them all - safely and effectively.

Dennis is a highly skilled, extremely creative, woodworker in his own right. So are many others. What makes Dennis special is he is also a fantastic teacher. He's patient, always concerned about safety first, he steps in with encouragement and help but he also develops confidence in his students. He helps them stretch beyond their current comfort zone and always has just the right fix when the inevitable problem arrives.

I've been taking classes here since January 2021 and knew nothing except an appreciation for wood when I started. I have much to learn but am become increasingly confident as I gain experience with more tools, more techniques, and more projects under Dennis's tutelege.

I highly recommend The Wood Work's Shop for experienced and novice woodworkers alike!

As a self-proclaimed handyman, I sought a shop to hone my skills and take my home projects to the next level. Dennis and The Wood Work Shop have helped me do exactly that. I had a fair amount of experience with tools such as a table saw, miter saw, router, etc. However, The Wood Work Shop has helped me hone these skills and get the most out of my tools. The quality of my craftsmanship went from moderate to excellent under Dennis guidance. Once you know the proper way to set up and use all the tools you have acquired, you start to realize all the minor details you may have been missing. Dennis provides excellent guidance in proper techniques and safety, even for people with pre-existing experience. The shop has every woodworking tool you could ever want to use. Dennis provides latitude in your projects, allowing you to tailor the projects so that you will love and use them in your home. Whether you are a beginner or advanced woodworker, you will gain much out of the time spent and guidance provided at The Wood Work Shop

I am a 51 year old female who was looking for a fun hobby to learn as my kids are now grown and requiring little of my time. So I decided to try woodworking and I really enjoy it! Dennis is very knowledgeable in his wood working craft. He is patient and accommodating to beginners. His shop is not large but holds an enormous amount of machines and tools to make lots of cool stuff. I am now taking private lessons from him during the mornings which allows me more one on one time in learning at a faster pace. He is also very generous in passing on deals of tools, and equipment that are beneficial to me for setting up a home garage shop of my own. I have made cutting boards, boxes, 6’ cowboy & cowgirl silhouettes, a bowl, yard art to hold clay pots and now I am working on building my very own work bench for home. I recommend you giving his class a try as you will not be disappointed!

I am a beginner woodworker with a modest shop in his garage. I had wasted a lot of time and materials trying to learn how to woodwork via Youtube. I was frustrated and needed help. So I sought out Dennis and the Wood Work Shop.

Right out the gate, he told me his primary concern was safety. I would learn how to use tools the right way with safety always being a top priority. From our initial call, I admired his patience, through instruction and concern for safety. I signed up for the course before I even saw the shop. I knew from our conversation, I was in good hands.

If you love woodworking, The Wood Work Shop is heaven on earth. It is exactly what you picture in a well-loved, productive woodshop. Full of every tool you can imagine. They are meticulously taken care of to ensure top working conditions. I have learned so much in my brief time in the shop. For example, I was terrible at using the table saw. Dennis patiently taught me the right way. I quickly went from being scared to confident using the machines. I am now able to create all sorts of fun projects. Dennis encourages me to challenge myself every time I am in the shop. Within weeks, I went from barely being able to use a table saw, to deftly navigating the shop’s power tools while I make a coffee table out of teak. Skill growth like this would have taken me years without his instruction.

Dennis is also a great guy and he has a great group in his classes. I look forward to connecting with my classmates weekly, seeing their growth, and cheering them on as they learn new things. Also, the price point is perfect. There are classes out there that are double the price of this class. They only offer to make one item over a week and can seem rushed. At the Wood Work Shop, you get time to ask questions, learn the right way and make what you want. I can not think of a better place to learn the art of woodworking. Even if you are just curious, give him a call and come in to see a class in action. I promised you will be hooked and love your new passion of woodworking at the Wood Work Shop.
