Not my style of art and my kids 9 and 11 commented that they don't want to come back ever. Modern Art isn't for us. But the people there are the sweetest.

The Verge is the place to be for those who want to get creative. I'm mostly over for the clay classes but I really enjoy the vibe and art that is all around. Plus, to bring back the clay art is another wonderful thing to do!

I cannot speak about the Verge’s artist residency/studios; I can only shed light on the Clay Lab. Lark, Collin, and Jordan are the most welcoming and kind individuals. I am a relative newbie at clay and they have consistently made me feel welcomed, comfortable, and in a safe space. It is undoubtedly a supportive environment and community; you have beginners (like me), intermediates, and advanced. However, everyone is willing to guide and help each other from how to use a slab roller to which clay best suits your needs to how to make a pinch pot. I have to thank my wonderful friend first and foremost for introducing me to clay as it has changed my life for the better. Lark, Collin, and Jordan are also to be thanked for making it a continual joy, being patient teachers, and simply lovely individuals. I hope I put to rest any doubts you may have had about joining the Clay Lab. It is a challenging and rewarding experience, and a positive and fulfilling constant in these uncertain times.

Went to an open studio event that required $150 payment to join, the energy in the room was similar to that of a wake, and the food they offered was dismal at best.. The director’s demeanor was even colder than the stale food. This place needs a complete overhaul from the top - down. I’d give a 1/2 star if I could, this place needs some seasoning if you catch my drift. Wondering where the $150 from the over 250+ artists is going…?

A wonderful place to let creative juices flow, even for those of us who are less artistically inclined. They have lots of interesting exhibits, courteous staff and scores of stimulating activities. Highly recommended for all ages!

Unfortunately, the venue is not accessible to those outside of the select artists group?

The only support they offer local artists is when they pay them $100+ bucks for a little blurb in a color catalog. You pay to display!

I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve applied for a studio residency and most the time. I don’t even receive a response. When I finally did see the Verge artist studios I was confused as to why some artists appear to be working out of a storage closet or something similar? I thought they were dedicated artist studios? I’m actually relieved that they didn’t choose me because then I would’ve been disappointed, I waited so long for one of those rinky dinky little studios.

They charged me 2 application fees for one of the residencies. When I inquired, there was no response?

The pottery open studio is great. Staff are friendly and welcoming; willing to answer any questions. The participants are varied and friendly, too. Everyone I talked to was willing to share ideas. The studio is well appointed with material, tools, and glazes. It's a great place to spend an evening.

The space is beautiful and well located but after visiting and reading about how they treat their BIPOC artists I'm disgusted by their institutional practices. They don't listen to criticism and instead get defensive and try to PR their way out of being held accountable and play the victim. This place needs and overhaul of it's staff and board before I ever visit again.
