I travelled to LA for business for ten days and stayed at westdrift hotel. This has always been my go to hotel given their great location and cool vibe. The breakfast staffs namely Claudia are particularly friendly which sets a great mood for me to start the day. Also the view on the golf side is great as well. Will definitely come back

The Westdrift hotel has excellent, welcoming staff. But only 40% of the hotel is open, and the building has the kind of problems you might expect when there is not enough revenue to maintain the facility.||On our first night, the HVAC air duct was right over our bed and vibrated constantly, generating over 45 dB of noise, even though we had the thermostat turned off. Also when we checked in, there were blood spots on the sheets and the toilet was unflushed. After a sleepless night, we were moved to a room on the West side of the building, away from the central HVAC. We were not given any kind of credit for these issues.||The second room was quiet, but it had a shower door that would not close, leaving a 1/4” gap. We had to sop up all the water with towels every day.||The rooms are on the small side, so there are no drawers except in the nightstands, and there are no portable luggage racks. For a 4-night stay, this was inconvenient. I ended up using an ironing board as a luggage rack. ||Although the rest of our stay went well, on checkout we were a bit shocked. The room seemed very reasonable at $230-260 per night. But then Westdrift daily tacked on $53 for valet parking (in an empty parking lot), $30 DST fee, and $35 room tax, plus $210 for F&B Room and more for internet. They had also told us we would get a $30 daily credit for food, but we did not receive this. The stay ended up costing us $435 per night after all the fees. ||I don’t know if I would stay here again, as it is the closest hotel to our relatives. But what a disappointment from Marriott.

I really enjoyed this hotel. Valet service was a little slow to act, as I had to ask them to valet my car. Front desk was fast and efficient. Bar made good drinks. Room was comfortable and quiet. They had me at the top floor in a corner room, so it had a beautiful view with large windows. Kind of a cool wrap around room. It’s right on the golf course, too. Next time I hope to try out the pool.

I've never been treated so poorly. I enjoy eating out and having a drink at an upscale place. This place I will never recommend anyone go. The manager made a racist comment about my party as we left. Never come here.

A Mixed Experience for Our Union Event
Our recent union event at the WestDrift Manhattan Beach was a bit of a mixed bag. On the one hand, there were many positives. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful, making our overall experience quite pleasant. The food provided for our event was absolutely delicious, and we received many compliments from our attendees. The hotel accommodations themselves were also great – comfortable rooms and well-maintained facilities contributed to a positive stay for most of our group.
However, there was one significant issue that caused considerable frustration: the hotel's handling of additional room requests. While our initial room block was secured at a discounted rate, when we needed to add more rooms for attendees who had to come and go throughout the event, the hotel refused to extend the discounted rate. They cited their contract, stating it was beyond their control. This was incredibly inconvenient for our members and created a real headache for our event organizers. It forced some attendees to find alternative, and likely more expensive, accommodations.
While the friendly staff and excellent food were definite highlights, this room rate issue significantly dampened our overall impression. It's a valuable lesson learned for us. In the future, we will definitely book more rooms upfront, even if we anticipate some might go unused, to avoid this situation. We would recommend other groups hosting events at the WestDrift do the same. While the hotel itself is lovely, their inflexibility regarding additional rooms at the contracted rate is a major drawback.

I had the pleasure of staying at Westdrift in Manhattan Beach, and it truly exceeded my expectations. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was captivated by the stylish, contemporary atmosphere that blends comfort with luxury. The hotel’s spacious, well-appointed rooms offered a perfect balance of relaxation and modern amenities, with large windows framing beautiful views of the surrounding area.

What really stood out was the attention to detail. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, making sure every aspect of my stay was seamless. The on-site restaurant provided delicious meals with a great selection, and I especially enjoyed lounging by the stunning pool area, which was perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring.

Located just a short drive from Manhattan Beach, the hotel offers easy access to the beach, local shops, and restaurants, making it a great base for exploring the area. Whether you’re in town for business or leisure, Westdrift is a wonderful choice with its combination of style, comfort, and exceptional service. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable stay in this beautiful part of Southern California.

I booked with points. Still got hit with a $40ish ‘resort fee’ that essentially locks you into eating breakfast there as the fee can be applied to food. The room had really loud|Unstoppable AC that could not be stopped and room that was somehow still hot in December. Bathrooms are super outdated. Rented bikes that was another up charge of $30 per 2 hrs. Bikes were rusted and old. Door knock ant 9:30 am woke us up. Pool was smallish. All in it was ok.

Wonderful hotel. Had a great week of meetings here. Staff is super helpful. Hotel was very clean. The hotel bar and lounge area over looking the golf course is super cool. The pool is really nice but spend the money to heat it. The Marine Layer over Manhattan Beach makes it very chilly for most of the day.
