Went to Wood Thumb for a 2.5 hour team event. We had the choice of making a cutting board, small vase holder, and bottle opener. Chris was a great host and provided enough guidance to make us feel safe and comfortable, but enough space to move freely and explore on our own!

I had the pleasure of attending a woodworking class at Wood Thumb as part of my company's annual team event, and it was an incredible experience! Chris, our instructor, was knowledgeable, kind, and had a great sense of humor. I was initially nervous about using the power tools, but he was patient and supportive the entire time. We had the option to make either a cutting board or a knife rack—I chose the cutting board, and it turned out fantastic! Overall, I had a blast and highly recommend this class.

Had a wonderful time learning the basics of wood working with Chris during the wedge side table workshop ! Chris was very kind, informative, and helpful. He gave very direct easy to follow instructions, and then let us explore the process and work space on our own. Highly recommend taking one of Wood Thumb’s workshops if you’re curious about woodworking and want to create your own special personalized piece!

It was a pleasure to spend an evening making my very own cutting board at Wood Thumb. Honestly it doesn’t seem like anything special until you get in there and create something from scratch. They had a big space (across the street from Kapwa Gardens) with all the tools needed. The only stressful aspect was picking a design I would be happy with. Help is provided all along the way. Also, shout out to these guys for providing a space that breaks the current narrative of SF. Small businesses keep SF awesome…especially when they create striking window displays on 5th Street. Recommended for family time, dudes night, date night, etc.
