I stay here frequently when in town and the service is always excellent. The rooms are clean and well laid out. Some bathrooms are updated, some are a bit old, but always clean. The parking garage is pricey but I’ve never had issues with security or finding space. Great view of Oakland Hills or the Bay and its bridges.

Chose this Marriott for an overnight as it is close to the airport and reasonably priced. Service was prompt and efficient. We stayed over on a Saturday on the 20th floor-no problems with the event center noise as others had experienced. Our suite was nicely appointed; the bathroom is small but modern and our corner room offered a great view of SF. We had a delicious breakfast in the M Lounge providing everything from cereal to oatmeal to eggs - Chrissy was an excellent hostess! Parts of the hotel looked a little old but it was clean and in good repair. Valet is $50/ night but beats self park! We did eat at the restaurant and enjoyed a good snack. The staff was quite accommodating on changing the TV channel to our preference. Service was prompt and the food served at temperature. It was good.

Rooms were clean and service very friendly and attentive. I stayed for four nights, on the 9th floor. On the third night there was high wind. I have never stayed in any hotel room anywhere with so much weather-related noise! The room had a drop ceiling with acoustic tiles and the wind outside was (I believe) causing some kind of shifting across the tiles. The result was a REALLY loud, continuous creaking all across the ceiling. I've never heard anything like it. I called the front desk when it woke me up at 6am to inquire because it was so loud and all I could think was maybe there was something structural going on (think: Florida building collapse). It sounded nothing like someone moving around above me. The sound creaked across the ceiling and even seemed to be in the walls. The front desk sent a security person up and he was as puzzled as I was. It would be difficult to overstate the level of noise. My only other small gripe was the gym is not spacious and one morning I counted 15 patrons and not a single fan. It was hotter than hell and stunk. When I exercised the next day, there were fewer people and it was fine. But really a couple fans would have been lovely. Everything else about this hotel--the people, the food, the room, location--was great.

Spacious, clean and inviting rooms. Attentive and friendly staff. Attracts a variety of clientele. I've stayed here twice. The first time, they were conducting auditions for a well-known reality show. This second time, a college football team from Miami was visiting to play the local team. Both times, we had a great time and despite both events, not a sound could be heard in the room. Slept well.

Generous size rooms, clean. Good gym. Very friendly staff, especially the cleaning ladies, greeted me with the warmest good morning!

Sound insulation is not great, u could hear neighbours talking and footsteps.

Wonderful hotel with a great location. Everyone was welcoming from the front desk to the friendly people in the bar area. Rooms were spotless and I really enjoyed my 1 day stay.

My husband and I had a wonderful time at the Oakland Marriott hotel. The staff was friendly and the facility was great. Our concierge, Dhali, was great. He gave us wonderful recommendations for our trip to Napa. Overall, we also felt safe walking around Jack London Square and the vicinity of the hotel. There are great cafes around the hotel. We had a car and did valet. Our car was fine.

Overall, this property has a lot of pros, I.e. clean, centrally located, MLounge for elite status members, etc. However, the noise from the elevators is extremely annoying and bothersome. I requested to move rooms to one further away from the elevators but still heard the churning and grinding sounds. My company’s travel department chooses our hotels so I’m stuck with wherever they put us but if I had a choice I would not stay here!!
