Adorable place and very wholesome. I learned a lot from here and my wife and daughter enjoyed panning for gold. The museum features many artifacts that can take longer than an hour to go through. The gift shop sells items at a great value. They're only going to be open for three more weeks this season.

A well maintained historic museum for the Big Bear Valley. The ticket is only $5 per adult. Everyone was extremely friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable to guide us through unique experiences of blacksmith, gold panning, stamp mill, etc. We chatted with a few docents and realized that the museum is run by volunteers. We really hope the museum can last long in the future because it was a really fun and educative experience for our whole family!

This place is filled with history and knowledge of the mountain ants surrounding areas. Great for kids and adults. They have life blacksmith presentations. My son got to take home a hand made butter knife. (Blunted of course). Packing for gold is free and fun as well. The workers add as volunteers are so informative and a lot of them are part of the history as well. A must see if visiting Big Bear. Can't beat the knowledge and experience. Especially for only $5.

I really liked the furniture and farm equipment in the various rooms. It's much more interesting than one would expect. The docents are friendly, knowledgeable and easy to chat with. You've got to give yourself about 2 hours to view everything, and then stop in the gift shop! I will be back!!!

I haven't been to this place since I was a teenager. It was so neat, Big Bear Museum was very interesting. I've never seen it before and there was several small buildings to go through. People were friendly and told us a lot about the place. It's a must see if you like museums.
