The hotel is beautiful, the pool is amazing, the food and drinks were delicious.

However, I think they just renovated and I'm not sure if they're entirely finished.

We got the Executive Deluxe King, which advertises an adjacent room with two twin beds. We were a party of three adults, so we thought great, one bed for each of us. However, the beds were little more than thin mattress pads on bed frame. When we complained, they said this is typically a room for families, and that they don't usually get complaints about it. (But, kids will sleep anywhere, I guess.)

The room with the twin beds also has no vents, which they have gotten complaints, because they have two fans in the room for air circulation.

There were weird issues about the room, like there were chips in the paint already, and the showers did not have a door. That's a design choice, I guess.

Since it was slow, we were comped the adjoining room next to us. However, after we checked out, they called my friend who made the reservation and asked for another card for the second room, even though the manager comped us the room. Just weird. All other times, the front staff was great, and the restaurant staff were all really kind, but the phone call gave us bad vibes.

Overall, I would recommend coming here for the pool (come with Resort Pass, I think it would be a good deal) and the restaurant (we were here for Chef Ki Kim's pop-up, absolutely delicious), but I'm not entirely sure it is worth the price you pay for the room.

Hotel is beautiful and the concept of mid century modern is well executed, however, the rooms are not sound proof at all! I could hear every slam of the doors around me, people above me, people walking in the stairwell, etc. I could clearly hear the conversations of my neighbors, which if they are not loud at night or early morning wouldn’t be any issue for me. However, my neighbors were up fighting at 4am and I could hear everything. Not very relaxing. Unfortunately I would never stay here again and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a good night sleep.

The room was very cold with the exposed cement floors. No privacy unless Curtins brought all the way down. Too far away to walk over to use the gym, hot tub. Nice restaurant and overall nice atmosphere, but would have liked to be closer to the amenities.

We were in town visiting family for thanksgiving and stayed at the Flamingo. I love to support a small local business and this one did not disappoint. The staff were friendly, the rooms were clean. Tea and coffee are available in the room. ice machines in the halls. The pool is heated, there is tennis and the spa to help you relax and enjoy your stay. Definitely recommend.

I booked a two-night stay in this hotel via booking.com as I was visiting Santa Rosa for my husband’s birthday celebration.I called the hotel’s front desk prior to visiting and asked them if they could do anything special for the birthday, like putting flowers in the room or something complimentary. The person at the front desk mentioned that everything is chargeable, but they can put a greeting card as a gesture, and I was really happy to know that. The person at the front desk even asked our surname and mentioned that there will be a card. But when I entered the room, there was nothing. I was so disappointed because it was a surprise vacation for my husband, and I was really expecting what I requested.I booked a deluxe king room. The room we got was spacious and looked like a suite, so I have no complaints. (I am not sure if they had upgraded it).The bathroom had enough towels for the two days. However, the toilet was in a corner, and there wasn’t enough space around it. Which was uncomfortable. I am glad that they gave us a big room. There weren’t many food options to eat at the restaurant (especially if you only eat veg or chicken). They have separate menus for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
I have removed 2 stars because:A: There was no greeting card.B: The AC wasn’t working properly in the room. The comforter was very weird as they had given two thin sheets and 1 thin comforter, and it was really hard to pull it all together. The toilet area was really small and uncomfortable to sit in.

Flamingo Resort? ||When they remodelled this hotel they made it “easy on the eyes!” ||But, it was the service and personable staff that made me want to return again and again! I found the spa, pool and hot tub comfortable and enjoyable. (Best if you enjoy the sounds of children having a great time!) I liked the range in room choices, and the effort the staff made to find a good fit for me. It’s a great location for families and easy going adults. If you need fitness options, this spot has many choices. The spa has classes everyday, and offer many options including yoga, tennis and masters swimming. (Not to mention massages and facials.). The Restaurant food and drinks are pricey… but, it’s an easy walk to reasonable alternatives. It’s also close to parks for hiking and bicycle riding. I was told it’s possible to rent bikes across from Spring Lake (5.9 km)) Shopping ?️ and coffee (Avid Coffee) is walking (700m) distance and downtown Santa Rosa is also nearby (3.5 km).

We went for the sipping Santa pop up.
It was busy. Super busy. Drinks came out super fast, so did the food. Service was great and the bill was much cheaper than we anticipated.
First time. Won't be the last.

Overall, we had a pleasant stay but for a property titling itself as a "resort" there are several improvements to suggest to match price to guest experience. |Pros: Nice grounds and a lovely pool kept at a comfortable temperature, a hot hotub, a nice variety of events, excellent bedding, delicious cuisine, relaxing massage at the spa, a fun 50s vibe, and courteous front desk checkin/out staff were the highlights. So why not award the Flamingo Resort and Spa a higher rating?|Cons: 1) Needs more service staff, especially, restaurant service staff. There was only one host/waiter/cashier person at breakfast which made for harried service. While we were eventually given coffee at the "coffee station", we were expected to get refills, creamer, water, etc. ourselves. This is fine if you are at a coffee shop or a run of the mill business type hotel, but it is not an expectation for a "resort". While it wasn't the poor lone staff member's fault at breakfast for being over burdened, the suggestion of an 18 to 25% tip was over the top as we felt we deserved at least a 5% tip for all the service we provided ourselves. We realize the Covid pandemic has resulted in less service overall in the hotel industry. However, it's one thing to offer cleaning service on request and quite another to be asked to help yourself to the extent we did at the restaurant. While the avocado toast was delicious, we went out to a nearby diner the next morning where we received infinitely superior table service, with a friendly and attentive waitress who checked on us often and kept our coffee refilled with a smile. ||Also, every other resort I have visited in and outside of California since the end of the pandemic still offers Bellhop and Concierge service as requested. ||2) Abrupt end to Happy Hour offering and major menu change. Happy Hour was shown on the Flamingo Resort's website and on handout the Front desk provided us at check-in as being from 4-6 p.m. We invited another friend from the local area to join us for Happy Hour and imagine our chagrin when we showed up for Happy Hour and were told in so many words, " We're not doing Happy Hour anymore". We later found out at checkout that no one had reported an end to this offering to the Front Desk staff either. Also, while we had checked the dinner menu the day before our stay and were pleased to see several vegetarian, gluten and dairy free options medically necessary to my friend's diet, the menu changed overnight and only one option was left. Advance notice of the hiring of a new chef and menu would have been appreciated. |3) The dated bathroom in the 430 "Classic" room is in need of repair. The bathroom sink was badly cracked (more like shattered) and epoxy had long worn off. Meanwhile the shower handle was extremely stiff and creaky making it tough to turn the water on. While clean, the bathroom is in need of both upgrades and repair to make it more practical and appealing. For example, except for a small hand towel rack and one knob on the back of the door (which was useless as it was too round and slippery to actually hold a damp towel), there was no place to hang full size towels except over the dirty curtain rod. Replacing the knob with a double or triple towel rack on the back of the door or adding a heated towel rack would greatly help as would adding a clothing hook for robes and PJs! Again, these are the touches that distinguish a "resort" from a standard motel/hotel. |Overall, the Flamingo has a yesteryear charm, but is in need of both upgrades and service to qualify as a quality resort.
