Took a 6 week course that met weekly after working hours. It was such a blast! The class sizes are a nice size that allows you to still get 1:1 feedback from the instructor. My instructor was Alex and he's a really good teacher. He helped make everyone feel comfortable with making mistakes and learning. My classmates were awesome, we got drinks after with Alex/Lindsey joining us. It was fun getting to know them and everyone in the class!

There's an obviously strong and welcoming community here that Lindsey (owner/operator) has helped establish and I'm really glad I took the course. I'll be signing up for another one in the coming year and plan to use it to make some gifts for family/friends.

I would strongly recommend it to anyone in the city!!!

I've been a member of Brick and Mortar for the better part of this year and it has been one of the highlights of my year. The community here is incredibly welcoming (and inspiring! Seriously, there are so many talented artists here.), and I quickly felt a part of the group.

I'm taking a Glaze Chemistry course right now and Nikki is a great instructor. My partner also took an intro to handbuilding course and loved learning from Lindsay. I'm also often in the space when classes are going on and can tell how excellent all the teachers are; since classes are smaller, everyone gets the attention they need to do well. I love the variety of classes offered here as well.

I really can't say enough good things about this community and space. There are many pottery studios in SF, and I am proud to be a part of this one 🙂

This is an amazing studio and community - people of all skill levels are welcome. The class offerings are great and so are the membership options. The owner, teachers, members, and students are all kind, encouraging, and helpful. The studio feels spacious and there are ample wheels available, plus hand building surfaces, slab roller area, glazing space, etc. I really can't recommend this studio enough to anyone looking for a community ceramics studio in SF!

Brick and Mortar Studios is amazing. I've been a member for almost 2 years and have no complaints. Lindsay understands artists and community and has created the perfect environment for the growth of both. Its a great space to check out if you are looking for something new, exploring your expressionas an independent artist, or if you're looking to make some friends and find community.

We had a great intro session but unfortunately we never received our pieces that we made. This is in spite of me sending several emails over the course of months— all of which were ignored. Sadly, would not recommend.
Update: After I posted this review we were contacted. We eventually received our pieces more than three months after our class. The lack of communication was the biggest issue.

Attended a one time class with my boyfriend and it was one of our best date nights ever. Lindsey (owner/operator) hosted us and was so informative, patient, and funny. We felt really welcomed and were laughing the whole time. I highly recommend attending a class, we will be on the lookout for future open house events. 10/10!
