Screwey emails texts and info at door....kind of a circus. NOWHERE on any notice in email is it stipulated the Time for check in. 2pm appointment cannot check in until 10 minutes before 2pm. Nothing in writing with these instructions. Its a disrefpectful waste of a citizen's time. Employees seem very overworked and scattered regarding process, and protocols. Not their fault but it is a very curious and tiresome process. Why do the newly arrived people to usa get more courtesy and special handling. Its a conundrum

I had stop by to pay for my registration at DMV El Cerrito, before I step through the front glass doors- I was questioned? What are you here to do? My Response: Pay my registration,.. I have cash. The young man said is it late
I responded NO. He pointed me to go to a kisok at Safeway. I ask why can I pay here? He said we do not offer that service anymore.
I ask I have never used a kiosk before..will it answer any of my questions?
He just looked at me. Now, I have to find extra time during today or take care of registration another day..at Safeway.

I had the most incredible experience at the El Cerrito DMV! The process was unbelievably fast, and the staff were so energetic and friendly that I was genuinely surprised. Really grateful for the staff here, who helped me get my registration sticker minutes before my license test. Amazing assistance during a high stress situation 😭 the drivers test instructors were also calm and clear with their instructions. I was super stressed after the registration hiccup but still passed with 3 errors. If you’re prepping for your test just remember to trust your intuition, drive as safe as possible, don’t get hung up on any mistakes and remember you got this!!!!!!!!!!!

What goes on in this office is beyond belief! The employees are not only incompetent but downright arrogant and completely lacking respect for visitors. They act as if every request is an enormous burden, and basic courtesy seems like an alien concept to them. The disgraceful treatment and total lack of professionalism make dealing with this institution a nightmare. This kind of behavior has no place in any public office!

I had the worst experience of my life at the El Cerrito DMV in California. The staff treated customers with disdain and lacked any respect for the people they are supposed to serve. There were no clear instructions or any form of assistance for managing driver's licenses, making the process incredibly frustrating.

They showed no respect for users' time and acted superior toward those who needed to handle important matters regarding their vehicles. It was impossible to contest any decisions they made, as they wouldn't listen or show any interest in resolving issues. On the contrary, the employees seemed completely unmotivated and appeared intent on humiliating the users.

I strongly recommend avoiding this DMV location if possible.
