For a small community college, they have a good amount of resources! Their instructors are pretty good as well, but I'm biased because I teach there. There is ample parking and they have great technology available. Student services are very helpful, and there are a good amount of community engagement events.

Update: 10/27/2023 attended an art opening last night at the gallery. It was fun and the space was n8cely arranged. I highly recommend that people attend the galley regularly for new inspiration.

I went to JCC for a degree in Human Services. I came away wishing I had never bothered. If I had gotten the truth about the nature of what I wanted to do it would have been a different story. Instead, I got professor Linda Matthews. She told me in a nutshell that the reason therapists speak in "Mm-hm, and how does that make you feel?" was due to "federal, state and local guidelines". In other words I was told that this was the reason therapists weren't allowed to talk to a "client" like a human being. Since then, I've found out very differently. Professor Mangano seemed to have an endless commodity of compassion for each student in her Interpersonal Dynamics class, until I was up at bat. That was when, instead of compassion, I was attacked for my own differences and largely told that my issues were my own fault. You know, the whole "The problem is YOU, and YOU have to change YOURself " that federal, government and local guidelines supposedly put on therapists. THEN there was all the talk about how "you can get excellent jobs right out of JCC". Right. I couldn't get entry level in ANY place in the area, and when I moved to Dallas to try my luck there with my degree, I couldn't even get a job sweeping floors in anyplace connected to the Human Services gig. In fact I never got a green light ANYWHERE in that field. I wasted my time and resources. I graduated just shy of the Dean's list, and do you know what that piece of paper is worth today? JUST ABOUT THE FINEST OUTHOUSE WALLPAPER YOU'VE EVER SEEN! I went back to driving trucks for a living, and eighteen years after my time at JCC I'm now on the sidelines from work injuries. And I STILL accomplished more in that time than what I lost at JCC. You couldn't PAY me to lie and tell anyone that their time at that school would be worth it.

I love the more personal contact with the professors. This school is smaller than Universities but I believe we get a better education in a smaller classroom where we are more than just a name. Our instructors know us and provide encouragement along the way. Most of the staff are very friendly and willing to help out in any way possible. It makes such a difference in the learning experience as a whole.

Fantastic school. Great professors and staff. Wonderful learning environment and classes. Flexible classes with many classes having 2 or more scheduled times during the semester. This college delivers a more personable environment than most colleges and make anything possible!

This place is a joke, if you want an actual college education go anywhere but here. The professors don't get back to calls/emails and the rest of the administration is in it for themselves. The high schools in this area offer the same level of education so what's the point of JCC besides a quick money grab.

Nursing program is outstanding. The professors are amazing and very knowledgeable. The best thing is getting treated like a person and not like a number.
