I do not live in the desert so I was thrilled when Kevin took the time to drive 90 miles while I was on holiday close by, to give me a lesson on my new Cannon 5D. He is a delightful man blessed with enthusiasm and talent. His lesson was, for me, incredible. I discovered so many tips and tricks with my camera and I now possess a much clearer understanding of the many advantages it has and how to use it to create a fabulous photograph. Having never taken a lesson before, although I have been shooting for years, (not knowing what I was doing), Kevin was brilliant, clear, patient and covered as much as humanly possible in the amount of time we had. If you ever have a chance to take one of his classes or meet with him privately, it is worth every penny.

I was a little skeptical at taking one of Kevin's beginning classes, I didn't know what to expect from someone I did not know. Boy was I wrong! I learned more in one class of his than I did in a semester at my local community college. He gets so excited when he starts talking about photography, his enthusiasm rubs off on everyone. He helped each person individually with their camera settings and my favorite, white balance. I didn't know what white balance was before I went there but that has all changed. With Kevin's class, I had a much better understanding of my camera and how to use it. I couldn't wait to practice what he taught us and was ready for the next step. How lucky was I to eventually have a personal photography session with him? I learned how to position my models, proper lighting, camera settings, best location, the list goes on. There have been times that I have contacted Kevin to ask him a question regarding a problem I might be having with my photography and he always points me in the right direction. My next step is to take another class with Kevin but this time, I'll travel to him. I just want to learn everything from a man who has been in the business for years, knows exactly what he's doing and is not afraid or worried to share his knowledge of photography.
Thank goodness I took that first class or I wouldn't be where I am today. Thank you Kevin!

I had an incredible experience with Kevin! I live in LA and did an abundance of research on camera and photography classes (which was totally overwhelming). I went with my gut and booked a private session with Kevin for me and my partner. We bought an expensive mirrorless camera to take pictures on our honeymoon, but had no idea how to use it. Spending the money to work with Kevin one on one was more than worth it as an expensive fancy camera means nothing if you don't understand how to use it! Kevin was super understanding regarding our lack of knowledge and knew how to explain things in a way that we could understand. We are so excited about our camera and all of the super cool functions we now know about. He made us feel comfortable and his passion about cameras and photography is refreshing and contagious. Also, since our session, he has followed up with us by sending us links to videos that he thinks will be helpful for us and has made himself available to answer questions we have (and even do some research on parts for our camera if we need them). So basically, our experience with him from our first contact to now has been better than we expected. We hope we can make him proud and take some awesome pictures in Greece and Italy!

I recently took Kevin's beginner workshop at The Living Desert in Palm Desert. Not only was the location fantastic, but the instruction was top notch! Kevin is a wealth of information and is very excited about photography and helping others with their passion of photography. His goal is to teach you everything he can. His instruction was wonderful and very informative; his passion is contagious; his knowledge is immense. I plan to play with my camera on my own for awhile, practicing what I have learned, and then take another class with Kevin. Thank you, Kevin! My husband and I took a private lesson from Kevin. He was amazing. A wealth of information, open to any and all questions, he provided an incredible amount of information without being overwhelming - even information on things we didn't think to ask. Kevin has a great way of teaching, and really caters to your style of learning. When I received my camera as a gift, I was completely clueless as to how to use it. In two hours, Kevin gave me the skills I needed to get started in taking great photos, and really helped me to understand the ins and outs of my camera which provided me with the confidence to get snapping! He provides you with visual learning tools (an actual deconstructed camera) so that you can understand how a camera operates, and gives you packets with organized and typed notes to which you can refer after your lesson. Once I develop full confidence in the skills with which he provided me, I fully intend on going back for another lesson to learn more. He also does group sessions, classes, and a photography bootcamp in addition to one-on-one lessons. This is great if one-on-ones are too pricey, if you're trying to have the whole family learn, or if you want to do it with some friends! Kevin really knows his stuff, and I am very happy with my decision to take a lesson from such a great teacher.

This is the best class you can take, whether you are a beginner or advanced amateur. Kevin has a gift of explaining complicated issues in a clear and understanding fashion, and assumes nothing. I have now taken three classes from him and each time I come away a better photographer. I am now shooting professionally and owe a debt of gratitude to Kevin for giving me the tools to do so. I highly recommend Kevin's class to anyone who owns a camera!

I just took the beginning intermediate class in Chico. Five years ago I purchased my Canon EOS Camera. I have taken some pretty nice photos and "kind of knew" what I was doing. I even bought a great book to go along with my camera - and even readmost of it! However, in a few short hours, a lot of that knowledge I had about my camera was put into real world terms. Things make sense now on how to navigate through the menus! I have gained a lot of confidence.
It is nice that Kevin has an outline and handouts for his class, but he does not hold
rigid to the schedule. If the class wants and needs to take some "side roads" Kevin easily accommodates.
I wish he worked closer to Chico, as I would take the next class. I may have to take a drive down to Southern California!
