We just got back from our very first Tiki Oasis in San Diego and oh my goodness what an experience! The music, the clothing, parades, dogs, food and the incredible people, it was just amazing.

One of our favorite parts of the 5 day event was the seminars. We were lucky enough to attend seminars such as "Latinos in Tiki", "Punch: The 1,000 Cocktail Trick", "Tropical Tasting", "Delights of the Desert" and more.

If you are interested in spirits, tropical cocktails and Tiki Culture then check out Tiki Oasis, you won't be disappointed.

We are already planning for next year.

Oh yeah we also saw Al Jardine of the Beach Boys perform, how awesome is that?!

Tiki Oasis is the Largest Tiki Event in the World. Tiki Oasis is an Amazing Event that is celebrating 24 years this year. This event happens every summer in Sunny San Diego, in the last weekend in July, currently at Town and Country Hotel. If you are a lover of all things Tiki, hanging out poolside, fashion shows, swanky suites parties, sunset dinners, disc jockeys, art exhibits, educational seminars, shopping at a bustling Tiki Marketplace, drinking tropical cocktails curated by top mixologists, and so much more, make sure YOU check out Tiki Oasis! You will Thank me for this great recommendation!

If you love mid-century Polynesian themed places this is the perfect celebration. The granddaughter of Trader Vic set me straight that Vic, not Don the Beachcomber, invented the Mai Tai. Super nice person. Met Al Jardine after he belted out all the best Beach Boy hits. Doesn’t get better than that---oh but missed Kokomo---next year. I think the Moai heads were smirking because they didn’t understand where the creature, the Gill Man, became so a part of Tiki? Need to drop the tacos and bring in some Pu Pu. The artist Shag strolling the floor and posing with the faithful for pics, how cool! There is a Neil Diamond tribute band called “Super Diamond.” We need a Don Ho tribute band next year but we need to be careful with the name. Just keep drinking until “rum” rhymes with “fun.”

This is an amazingly fun and complex event of epic proportions! There are activities from sun-up to nearly sun-up again. Concerts, performances, seminars, DJ’s, art shows, suite parties, themed fashion walks, a massive marketplace, kids & tween activities, beauty & barber salons, photo sessions, and even a pooch parade. All in the name of colorful and tropical inspired fun.

I absolutely loved attending for the first time last year. This year I couldn’t wait to get back there. Wonderfully planned, amazing energy, and a fabulous location. The crowd is incredibly welcoming as well.

I have been going to Tiki Oasis since 2009. I am always amazed at what a fantastic job they do keeping things running smooth with a mostly volunteer crew. They work hard to get fun and informative symposiums that allow attendees to learn new things. They get great bands and they try to have different bands every year.
It is not an inexpensive event, but it is not cheap to produce what they do.
I love the new hotel and its proximity to the trolley line.

We go every year, and every year does not disappoint. I do hope one day they do change the format for seminars/classes and do an all-included price like Tiki-A-Go Go does for its event. Much easier to plan and not stress over spending more money. Other than that, the hotel, hosts and event is amazing

We’ve been going sporadically since 2008, and it’s by-far the biggest and most organized tiki event we’ve experienced! Super fun. Great people. Best bands. Amazing vending. What more could you ask for?! See you there next weekend!
